Probably far too early to tell but he missed half of last season and has already been out a game and a half this year and counting. That's more time than Emmitt missed in his whole career. I really like JJ but am growing concerned with his inability to stay on the field.

I don't think he's half as tough as Emmitt was. Even when he's not injured bad he's limping or holding his shoulder or ribs or hand or whatever. I personally don't think he's going to stay healthy enough to be counted on. I really hope I'm wrong, but I just have my doubts.

Please let me be wrong.

You are right, it is probably too early to make a determination, but it is not out of line to bring this up.

BLAH BLAH BLAH.
Broken shoulder blade (Emmitt got one too).
rolled up - happens to all sorts of players.
PATHETIC.
In simple language- WRONG AS USUAL.

I think the main difference is Emmitt had a dominating line that blew the DL off the LOS; JJ is getting hit at the LOS much more frequently. That eventually takes its toll any back.

Has he been able to stay healthy? NO, so chew on that for a while. When he can play a full 16 game season, come at me. Then you'll have an arguement that makes ours(or atleast mine) pathetic.

yeah, a broken shoulder blade is one of those questionable injuries you know...the kind where a RB really could play but chooses not to because he lacks toughness

Started with a cracked rib
Then a broken collarbone

Now a high ankle sprain.

JJ when healthy has proven he can play. He has not proven he is durable. The greats are durable.

go back and look at the tackle where he got injured, has nothing to do with durability, no ones foot/leg is meant to bend the way his did.

Thats the problem. He was really great when on the field last season, he's been good this year. He has to remain healthy to contribute. If he's not healthy, he's not contributing. Your not worth a damn to BP if your not healthy.....Juluis so far has not been able to stay healthy for a long period of time.

I hope this does not turn into a pattern for him. He is something special when he's healthy.

I don't see where we're wrong. Either he has proven he can stay healthy over a 16 game schedule or he can't.....has he yet? If thats not cause for concern....I'll apologize and crawl under a rock.

Wow. I guess JuJo's Durability is one of those "Off limits" topics.

I heard that. They must think that if we don't talk about it, it won't be a problem.

I love Julius as much as the next guy, but he DOES HAVE durability problems....until he can stay healthy and contribute, durability will continue to be a concern......atleast to the realistic side of the fanbase.

I'm a Notre Dame fan and I've been a JuJo fan for awhile, but even I'm thinking maybe we should draft another RB next year, just incase.

Tell you what, if by some miracle Reggie Bush dropped to the cowboys next year I'd draft him and let him split carries with JuJo. Bush can split out wide as well.

JJ had no problems with injuries at ND. Bruised ribs is almost normal for a football player. Shoulder blade- freak injury. AND it happened to Emmitt as well.
Getting rolled from behind- BLAME HIM FOR THAT TOO?
This is a really DUMB thread.

Yes it is a freak injury and Emmitt broke his as well. But how many games did Emmitt miss? I honestly dont remember. I do not remember him being out 8 games in a row at any given time.

Irvin was durable most career - except the blown knee early.

Norton was not a great.

Lets see Irvin played majority career injury free. All we have to date on JJ is he's injured a lot. Can't compare him to Irvin yet - thats silly.
