You guys do realize he is a third string UDFA? He had a decent game against Detroit. I wonder if they regret cutting Will Allen right about now?

Putting starter like expectations onto a 3rd stringer is awfully cruel of you.

If Jeff Heath is an NFL player then we all have a chance.

Is Roy Williams, Hamlin or Keith Davis doing anything these days?

Heath isn't very good and wouldn't be here if it weren't for all the injuries, but there was also quite a few times he had to try to make the tackle because several other players before him were either out of position or missed the tackles themselves. I'm not really trying to defend Heath, just pointing out this defense has been patchwork at best and having to plug in warm bodies just to fill the holes and there's plenty of holes.

He was bad , but like Collinsworth said, he was in way too many tackles in this game. I bet he was gassed and going to be pretty sore tomorrow.

Heath is an undrafted, practice squad player. He has no business being on an NFL field right now.

We blame the coaches for this, but the blame is on the GM and on the scouting department. Poor drafts, poor management of the salary cap, and questionable contracts being given to unproven players.

I know he doesn't belong out there, I know it's not his fault, but I can't help but remember a thread where posters were making him out to be can't miss, starter material. Lol "I love Jeff Heath" lol that was funny

Still doesn't excuse the poor tackling. Someone needs to teach the guy how to wrap up. He just goes for the kill shot and bounces right off the guy.

He had 9 tackles and only bounced one that i saw.. the one that led to the TD. Rather he go for the big hit there or the strip anyway because we all knew they were going to score.

I saw multiple attempts to arm tackle. And the worse part is, the ball carrier just carries Heath with him for YAC. Just being honest here.

I actually feel better about him than Will Allen. That guy was toast on so many TD's.
I know it helps some people to get upset and yell to cut everyone after a loss like that. But the reality is that very very few of us have the ability to judge the performance of a safety just by watching a game on tv. We don't know the play call or assignments. We can't see the amount of times that he may have made an exceptional play that stop Brees from throwing in his direction.

But carry on the "CUT EVERYONE" movement.
I know logic and reality don't have a place on the zone after a loss like that.
