Any player placed on the IR-designated to return can't play for 8 weeks, I think. If that is the case, Waters wouldn't even be eligible to practice or play until the 1st playoff game assuming the Cowboys win the NFC East. Anyone getting hurt from last week or so is going on IR.

With a torn triceps, Waters isn't going to be able to play again this year anyway; short term IR or not. But I still can't believe Dallas wasted the spot on Edgar Jones.

What kind of workout was he doing? There are lots of things you can do in a weight room without using the repaired shoulder. I have athletes in the weight room working out all the time, who won't be ready to get back in the game for months.

And that is relevant in what manner? He can certainly do a number of things that do not involve his shoulder.

I'm an Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist at a school. I'm not the strength coach, but I work with them. I appreciate you asking.
