Can we talk about Mo?

I haven't rewatched the game and I had company over so at times had some unfortunate distractions.

But from what I saw he looked fantastic.

I was naturally very curious to see where ODB was lined up pre snap most plays. As the game progressed I felt better when I saw it was Mo across from him.

Long way to go but what an encouraging start for an often maligned player.

A full preseason may have done wonders.

Im always a skeptic, but how he played OBJ was impressive

You have to start somewhere and he passed the first test.

I'd have to go back and look more closely, but I thought he got a little handsy at times and could have been called for illegal contact. The fact that he didn't is a good thing because I think he needs some confidence-building performances to get to the point where he just trusts his ability.

I think the Wilcox hit on OBJ had more to do with his poor game than Mo.. But so far so good.

Yep. Clai had a good game but I think OBJ was probably seeing stars all night. I still think Claiborne can be a good starting CB if he plays man. Same with Carr. After all, that's what they were brought in for. If we play to their strengths, we should have a solid secondary.

I think one of the benefits Mo has this season is that he can fly under the radar. He's not expected to be mini-Deion/Revis 2.0. I think getting him on a decent deal before he hits the market would be wise.

Corners take time to develop. Their second contract is where you start seeing what they can do.

It took awhile for Scandrick it felt like. Granted, he wasn't a top pick in the draft but its like the centers in the NBA. It takes guys a little longer.

While I am highly encouraged by what I saw from Mo which was some serious lockdown action, may I just make one suggestion? Can we give him a few weeks before we start to let the anointing oil simmer? After all, this is Mo we're talking about.

I think it helps that he's starting as far as re-signing him goes. If he were just a nickel player then I think he would leave for a better opportunity elsewhere. Other teams will likely be leery of throwing too much money at him.

I feel like if there was a weakness in our secondary, the Giants, with how well they know our team, would have exploited it. They tried to pass a lot to Patmon's way, but he held his own well enough. Mo's big test will be vs Philly, he's historically struggled with that team, hopefully he can shut down whoever is on his side

I thought he played really well. The real test will be in a couple weeks when Julio Jones and Roddy White come to town.

Looked like the Giants wanted to target Mo and the Cowboys put Mo in press coverage instead of playing off. He started to look like he did in his rookie year when we played press coverage and he could use his long arms to jam within the 5 yards from the LoS. I was very happy with what I saw from all of our DB's.

Keep in consideration how much time he's had on his hands to watch tape, and learn with his mind instead of his raw talent. Add a full pre-season to that, and you've got yourself a real approach at becoming a pro corner. A lot of these guys struggle to realize the learning curve that comes with playing in the NFL. Just hearing him talk in interviews, you can tell that he's a totally different person than what he was when drafted. I wish him the best. The ability is there, and it seems that he is getting the full picture now.
