Can we talk about Mo?

Gotta give it up for Mo. He played well against probably a dangerous receiver in OBJ.

Its just one game. But if he shows up more like what he did against the Giants I'll be a believer and eat crow.

I'm one of those guys that thought he was a clear bust when we drafted him. In some way I still feel that way. But if keeps playing like he did than its time for me to eat some crow and admit that I'm wrong.

Is it so difficult to give a guy credit for a solid ball game?

I don't remember hearing his name called, and for a cornerback, that is usually a good thing. Hopefully the young man makes the most of what could be his last opportunity in Dallas. Good luck to him. He's an LSU boy, so I have and will continue to pull for him. Adversity can often times change the altitude of a player...see a little farther and a little clearer.

If I'm not mistaken OB really didn't have much suggest until he was moved to the slot postion.

Kudos to Mo, I was impressed by him. I believe his main problem is he has missed so much time due to injury. Hopefully, he stays healthy and contributes this year and the team can see where they and him stand at years end. I'm sure pulling for the kid.

@Bleu Star Where did anyone say we should anoint the guy? If someone said it, I sure missed it. I'm pretty sure people are just giving credit where credit is due. Nobody is saying that Mo is the best corner in the league, hell, nobody even said he's the best corner on the team. You should cool your jets on the overreacting.

Speaking of overreacting, @ShiningStar what are you even talking about? Who said Mo is "God hood" as you put it? Wow man. Is it so hard for you to recognize that a player had a good game?

I think some of you pigeon-hole these players and get it in your head that they suck and you're so close minded that you're not willing to see when someone improves.

This was Morris Claiborne's first real offseason. CB's typically don't start showing great results until years 2-4, depending on their ability to learn. Mo is a slow learner, we all know that. He has amazing physical talent. Let the guy learn how to play the position in the pros. Some of you need to stop being so unwilling to change your opinion. It's okay. We aren't going to make fun of you because you were wrong. It's not even that you were wrong. It's that the player has improved. This is a very normal thing in the NFL and your type of thinking is exactly why Romo Is labeled a choker.

The melodrama isn't "cool" or "being a realist". It's you being stubborn and close minded.

not at all, I would be thrilled to see him turn a leaf this year! I just feel that he needs to be consistent in both play and health!

I'm pleased and encouraged to see Mo is performing well lately. He's been through more than I'd wish on any player to be forced to endure. Here's hoping this season finds him living up to the standards the team expects of him. I wouldn't wish the difficulties on a dog that he's seen since he's been with us. I've come to admire his grit.

I think one of the benefits Mo has this season is that he can fly under the radar. He's not expected to be mini-Deion/Revis 2.0. I think getting him on a decent deal before he hits the market would be wise.

If he has the kind of year that game one indicates he might, that's a real possibility. We'll see if it continues.

Prove to me you won't get owned by Riley Cooper, and then we can talk.

I love the sheer excitement and the celebratory tone that's plentiful this week. I'm excited too but that excitement is tempered. We can't all be popping bottles after one game. That's one game during which we almost managed to do everything in our power to hand it to the Giants. So, while we all celebrate as though Mo has finally become what we thought we drafted and JAGbar has finally relieved himself of project status, I will again say that I am encouraged by what I saw from both. However, it stops there. I will be legitimately encouraged when they begin to make a living of stacking these types of games together week after week after week.

Carry on with that celebration while I sit here and try to recollect how many wars were won on the 1st day.

While I am highly encouraged by what I saw from Mo which was some serious lockdown action, may I just make one suggestion? Can we give him a few weeks before we start to let the anointing oil simmer? After all, this is Mo we're talking about.

I haven't rewatched the game and I had company over so at times had some unfortunate distractions.

But from what I saw he looked fantastic.

I was naturally very curious to see where ODB was lined up pre snap most plays. As the game progressed I felt better when I saw it was Mo across from him.

Long way to go but what an encouraging start for an often maligned player.

It was a good start to the season for Mo, the game however is about being consistent. Mo has to bring it week in and week out. I believe in him, I think the kid has talent he just needs to stay healthy and maintain confidence in his ability.

I don't see anybody popping bottles after Week 1. I don't see anyone saying Mo has become what we anticipated he'd be. There is such a thing as giving a man for a great game. Being matched up against Odell Beckham Jr. for much of this game and him only finishing with 5 catches for less than 50 yards receiving and no touchdowns. Didn't give up any big plays down the field. Did a good job being physical without holding. I thought we put Mo in position to succeed by allowing him to play to his strengths. Everyone realizes this is a long season and one game isn't a parade merit. Really don't see anyone saying otherwise so don't really get where you're coming from.

I agree if people are willing to come down on him after a bad game then it is fair to give him his dues for a good game. In terms of his career thus far it has not been good but he has a chance to turn that around and for his sake and the sake of the Cowboys I hope he does

If we talk about him and it jinxes his play....I will hold YOU personally responsible.

So there!
