I was trying to think of this last night and I can not think of five players that I feel (my opinion only!) are only in the game for their love of the game! Most of the so called star players should be set for life after only one contract signing so I don't feel that any of them have to stay around unless they either love the game , the money or both! The obvious category for most players would be BOTH but I want to hear others OPINIONS of their five players who play JUST for their love of the game since they are probably finnancially set for life! Before anyone responds I don't want to hear names from the past such as Jerry Rice or Emmitt Smith-----only current NFL players please! Disagree all you want but here is my short list---- Kurt Warner , Brett Favre , Drew Bledsoe , Troy Brown and I can't come up with a fifth one that I could name right now---can YOU name five?????

I think Peyton Manning is a great Qb but I think if he played (now) for the love of the game he could do so for 10 or 15 million dollars a year less so his team could afford to spread that surplus into attracting more quality at other possitions! Just my oppinion about his high salary!

Kurt Warner says we will retire rather than be a backup so I guess he is one guy who isn't after the money. But that is only one guy isn't it.

I believe you have to have some serious love for the game to play it at the pro level. To get to the pro level.
Not saying anyone in the NFL would play it for free every Sunday but I think the idea they are all in it only for the money is a bit unbalanced.

Few players in today's game would play much if there wasn't money there, incentive for that one last contract. There are a few though, Ray Lewis. If he didn't have football, he wouldn't have an outlet for all that aggression. He wants to be known as the greatest of all time, while that is difficult, it is a drive few vocalize. Brett Favre, cause he should have probably already quit, but still stays, even when his team has no hope of another ring. Really, I can't come up with many in football, so I would have to choose all sports.

Evander Holyfield still fights, even if he shouldn't and doesn't need the money at all. He just wants to be the best at what he does. Fighters never quit, lol, so there are a few in history there. Allen Iverson doesn't like practice, lol, but he lives to play the game and will risk life and limb to succeed. Remember hearing a story about some guys challenging him, and took on both of them by himself with penny loafers on, wiping the floor with both of them.

My last is Tiger Woods, he is set for life, yet he continues to push himself to be even better and win trophy after trophy. Once he reaches Jack's records, I don't see him quitting.

I name those 5 cause of the intensity they bring to their respective games. Never say die, firey attitude that would drive them no matter if they got paid or not. I don't believe any one sport has 5 players like this, unfortunately. It is about money to all but a select few, and these 5 are a pretty good list.

They all play for the money. It's like asking yourself, why do you go to work?? But if there's anybody there for the love of the game it's the people who cover kicks for the league minimum. People like that.

Just because you love the game doesn't mean you let other people get rich off you. You think the owners don't make more than Peyton? He's the one out there doing the work, why do it for free?

None of them play for love of the game, if they only made 50 grand a year playing how many you think would still be around?
