Can't blame this one on Romo

I'm probably his biggest critic, and I can't find a way to blame this on him. He made some huge strides as a player this year. Sadly, the back injury may have been a good thing for him and his development, he had to flip the switch from physical to mental.

It stinks he's getting on in years honestly. Teams without quarterbacks perennially struggle.

romo played ok today. his fumbled snap was awful. sacks were also awful.

A 140+ QB rating for a road playoff game is ....okay? He was fantastic, made some great throws even though the Oline was porous as heck.

Only playoff loss in NFL history with a QB rating of 140+. He makes this team way better than it is. Heck, draft all D this year (kidding),

I wouldn't use the "extremely" word. He did play well but he also cost us some yardage with him insisting on holding the ball.. And if it was him killng that 3rd-n-1 at the end of 1st half when it might have been a run then he cost us more than just yardage…..

But the guy had a GREAT season considering his back condition and I feel good with him coming back 100% healthy next year

Great season coming off injury. Congratulations! Build on this year Romo. You now know the recipe for success doesn't matter who the coordinator is.

I hope his back will get better and hold up for the next 2-3 years. His balls didn't have the velocity compared to past years which i suspect is due to his back. His back is my major concern. One hit away...

Only thing to improve next year for Romo is "please throw the ball away instead of taking SACKS". Too much of that this year.

Again great season Romo. Thank you for proving naysayers wrong so I don't have to argue with them constantly!

He needs to dump off the ball more to his back as he was doing early in the season instead of trying to extend plays and take unnecessary hits and sacks. Still played great all year. This is just to improve on not nitpicking.

We got beat by a one legged quarterback. Romo could've played better. And if he made the call to go deep on fourth down it was a game losing decision. I'll hold judgment until I know who made that call. Just plain stupid.

The Cowboys should have won this one, but they didn't take care of business.

I found three issues that I felt played large in the loss.

  1. DeMarco's fumble
  2. Missed field goal.
  3. Romo refusing to throw the ball away after holding way too long.
In the end, if the Cowboys had take care of the ball. Green Bay loses by at least 10.

Can't blame much on Romo this year, definitely had the best year of his career. I just wish he would have made his transformation years ago, might be too little too late for a title now.

I gotta say as somebody who is known around here as not the biggest Romo fan -- that's a great post. Credit where credit due (to you).

Against our defense? Lets see what he does next week.

It's not like he just decided to show up against us today, he's been doing it for years now, the guy is a machine. There is a 0% chance that GB wins next week in Seattle, but it won't be because of Rodgers.

In the second quarter? I couldn't agree more, we tried to get too cute instead of sticking with what got us here.

yep, that play was atrocious. wasnt that the mishandled snap also?
im positive we give it to murray and he gets the first.

He's a great QB no doubt. But if our defense doesn't get breaks it looks like, well it looks like it did today.

That's what I was thinking. Why go for the low percentage HR vs. the high percentage short pass? Or better yet .. run Murray.
Perhaps because the guys who ran the short routes weren't open, so they weren't high-percentage throws? And Dez was one-on-one?
