You need a guy that the defense gets tired of tackling. Like #24 for the Falcons today.

The cowboys need to understand that the guys we have now are ALL THE SAME GUY.

You need a guy that when a CB comes up to tackle him...that CB will get thumped and his coverage will suffer the rest of the day.

You need a guy that will wear out a defense. #24 for the Falcons today would go for 200 yards behind our OL!!

Right on. We stacked the box on several 3rd and 1-2 plays against freeman, and he just plowed through us. On another play Wilcox came up to hit freeman, and bounced backwards 2 yards. People underestimate the lethal combination of skill + size. Church hits him, result is busted lip, Wilcox hits him result is getting knocked backwards.. Sean Lee, busted lip.

Randle rocks, when he's not touched for the first five yards.

And he was effective finding the open WRs. You confident that somehow we had WRs running open downfield that he was just missing? Or do you want him forcing the ball more into coverage to Terrence Williams or Devin Street? Which is it?

so we had no receiver open past 10 yards the entire game? And that's not counting quick dump offs (which, granted, were working for a while), which didn't give time for anything to develop.

Did we? I'm not sure, really. We didn't really push the ball downfield, and it was tough to see. I just know I didn't hear anybody pointing out that Weeden blew an open man or anything, and I didn't see anybody running free that we missed in the telecast.

I cant blame the backs one bit and I have been one of there biggest critics.

However I will say I do feel we need to activate Michael next week. If teams are going to load the box its going to be very tough sledding for Randle and McFadden. Michael is better suited to run in that situation. We can spread teams out and run with Randle and McFadden and when they stack to box run with Michael.

IMO with Dunbar we can deactivate a WR

Good point. While everyone was celebrating over Coleman being out, I was trying to tell people on here all week that Freeman is no joke. How many times did he truck Wilcox? Michael better be active next week.

The ironic thing here is one could make a strong argument that Devonta Freeman's style of play is very scat back like.

Except when he lowers his shoulder and sends your strong safety flying backwards. Or runs through the tackles and delivers a blow to your linebackers causing them to bend over in pain and have to shake off the stinger that they got trying to tackle him

Wrong. There is nothing special about DFreeman. Their oline whooped our front seven the entire second half. That's all.

If he's unwilling to throw the ball down the field with 2 minutes left in the game while while we are behind, when the hell will he?

And by "down the field" I mean, over 10 yards. The one time he did, he couldn't hit Witten.

The Falcons RB is considered a scat back. He was 5-8, 206 when drafted. Dunbar was 5-8, 205. Randle and McFadden are both bigger.

lol. CMike wouldn't have done much either, when the Falcons didn't respect Weeden's arm and were ready for the run.

probably not, but a punishing back that delivers blows to would be tacklers effects a defense ability to play 60 mins. I'm not even saying CMike is that back, just a physical back makes a difference in games like this.

We have up 40 points and you guys have the nerve to bring up RBs as the problem.

A decent passing game would have helped our "scat backs" just fine. I said in another thread that our O-line seems better suited for a bruising type RB, but with Romo and Dez out there, Randle and McFadden would've looked great in both halves.

Are you seriously going to gauge how one RB is more punishing than another RB based on size and weight? Are you really saying that Dunbar and Freeman are the same size...so they "should" bring the same thump? I don't know where to start with a comment like that......

Hmm last season people knew we were going to run, we dared them to stop it. They couldn't. Now we suddenly can't do that any more.
I doubt Atlanta gave any thought to Weddon beating them really. Especially with our number one WR in a boot on the sideline.
Eight games over 100yds last season by a bell cow RB. No one new we would try and run on them?
