Cap Space with Dak now signed

https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/dallas-cowboys/

Looks like OTC updated the 2021 cap space rather quickly and Dak is taking on a 22.5 million cap hit for 2021 causing Dallas to be slightly over the projected cap for the season.

But this is without any restructures to deals like Martin and Cooper. I would imagine those will be happening for sure.

That should leave room for one big free agent signing and draft picks.

Let's go!

So what.....Stephen Jones will tell you how Dak’s contract will hold back our team building abilities.

Next year when Dak is the 4th highest paid QB APY, Stephen probably blame Dak for letting Gallup walk.

Yeah we have a lot of guys being paid as if they are g.o.a.t.s
The Cowboys have a ton of slugs playing in G.O.A.T. bodies. No heart, over paid, over hyped under achievers, there's a reason why all the players are head over heals about Dak's contract, they're tickled pink because when we're getting slammed like the bottom feeders that we are all the hate will be directed at Dak because of all the cheese the rat is being paid. JJ could of made a huge statement by Tag, Bag and Trading Dak for a high choice in the draft that could of been used on a nice defense piece. Now they'll probably draft another O-Lineman with the 10 pick to protect the rat from getting hurt while he's counting all the cheddar in the back field with over paid ratmate Zekke Jack Cheesze!!!!!!!! Trust me when I say we're all in for a huge cluster f!@#$%^k season...............

Listen, now that you're married to mediocrity at QB it doesn't matter. There isn't enough cap space to build the kind of supporting cast around this stiff that you'd need to be a true contender.

Maybe you can compete for a meaningless division title in a horrific division but that's it.

Time to refill your birth-control pills buddy.. You are being hormonal.

Thanks for posting

Dak's cap hit is actually lower than Carson Wentz hit on the Eagles, and he's not even on their roster.

Yes sir,, lets load up some dead cap now.. brilliant.

Rumor is with the cap savings this year the Vowboys plan to extend Jaylon again...for no apparent reason.
Well they are restructuring Jaylon's contract to work out a trade with the Football Team. Jaylon wants to be on Washington's coed dance team and Jerry is making it happen. Get er done Jerry!!!!!

Dak’s cap hit is 22.2 mil this year.

if the cap is 180. His cap hit % is 12.3

if the cap is 185. His % is 12

Now where were all the posters saying he would take up 20% of the cap?

And where are all the posters who were saying that a QB can’t make more than 13% of the cap or it will kill a teams chances?

Or could it be that, like some of us have said for years. The contract and “APY” was meaningless but it was about the structure of the deal.....

Things that make you go hmmmm

Not sure anyone thought the first year would be a big cap hit. I think I only ran into one person. But you pay for that cap hit in later years. I'd bet my right arm they're structuring this contract with the 2023 and or 2024 cap spike in mind.

Actually I'm glad he got his big new deal and that is is recovering.....gives us a chance to see what kind of QB he really is now that it's all on him to carry the team........snap crackle pop....love those Rice Krispies.
Insincere trash.

Good thing Jerry gave a premium contract to a 5 sack DE and made the out of shape Cabo King the highest paid back in the league. This Dak contract will also assure Gallup is gone because GM Jerry gave $100 million to an overweight guy that only likes to play at home. Lastly good thing he gave $60 plus to the Sunglasses King as well. All those crappy contracts are going to cost Dallas players like Gallup that can actually play.

You're right for the most part. But in DLaw's defense, how often did our defense see obvious passing downs? Our d was so bad it rarely happened. The common theme was, 2nd and 5, 3rd and 2. That's if we even had a 3rd down. No pass rushers are pulling up sacks under those conditions.
