Capers/Crennel/?? - Next DC??

I'm a firm believer that Wade will be gone at the end of the year, regardless of how many if any playoff games he wins. Hell, Jerry fired Jimmy after winning two Super Bowl's so Wade is gone. Pretty sure Jason Garrett is the next HC, so the question is who will be his DC??

Dom Capers - assistant for New England, worked with Garrett is Miami
Romeo Crennel - will be fired by Cleveland, knows the 3/4

potential assistants in New England/Pittsburgh who are due for a shot as a DC

I've been thinking for a while now that Crennel would make sense. Garrett could stay focused on the offense knowing that Crennel has the experience to run the D.

Where do you get Capers is terrible? He coached the Steeler's defense when they first started to be called "Blitzburg". I think Capers is a much more aggressive DC than anyone we've had since transitioning to the 3-4. He would have players coming from all directions, blitzing 'backers, safeties, CBs, etc.
Next year Jenkins & Scandrick will have a year under their belt, and we will be better fit to blitz more with man coverage.

I would welcome Capers anytime.

Look up the rankings of Capers' Ds over the years. That Pittsburgh period was pretty much his only good stretch. The Ds he had at Houston and Miami were awful.

I think his name got thrown out for years only because he was one of the few 34 coaches out there. That doesn't mean he's good, though.

Not even close. Capers takes average defenses and makes them terrible.
