Which do you prefer?

I forgot to add it in, but you can vote for a 1967 Impala SS under "other" if you like.

Rack, awesome topic.

It really depends on what you want to do. If you're interested in a show car, any of the ones you listed would be great, but if you're wanting to have a little fun on the side at the quarter, the best bet would be a '67-'68 Camaro/Firebird. Both are very light and can house some monster power under the hood.

I have a '67 RS/SS Camaro with a 406 c.i.. It's a great combo. That era of F-Body really allows for a large tire in the rear without having to do any tubbing. I have 275's back there. No, they don't stick out on the sides. That's tacky IMO.

Another possibility is a Chevy II Nova. Unfortunately, you can't really fit the big meats back there without tubbing. But man...are those things light.

The '69 Camaro's are probably the most popular, I guess, but they started getting wider and heavier in that year culmonating with the body change in '70.

I saw you mentioned the Charger. Boy, it'd be fun to have the General in the garage. If you want to see another nice one on film, watch Christine.
The main character's best friend has, I believe, a '69 Charger in a beautiful dark blue with a nice set of Cragar's.

My in-laws have a 64 1/2 Mustang just collecting dust in their garage. My wife banged it up a little bit when she was back in high school and it's been sitting in the garage with minor body damage ever since.

I have a long-term plan to get it/but it from them, refurbish it, and then keep it in good condition so my son can still drive it in 12 years when he's old enough.

I actually like all of these cars... especially the Charger, but I have always had a soft spot for the '67 Camaro...

I picked the '70 Charger.

It depends on what you want to do with it though. If you're looking to impress John Q. Public then any will do but you have to be very careful with Camaros because the hard-core devotees seem to love pointing out what you've done "wrong".

I've loved the charger ever since I watched the Dukes of Hazzard as a kid, but if I were to fix one up it would end up looking like this (hopefully)...

That's a '68. I like the tail lights on the 68 a little more then on the 69/70.

Great thing about that is there'd be very little damage to the car cuz it's been in the garage so long.

You're kid will be the only kid in school with a car made out of metal. :D

I'm not a gear head so there will be plenty of things "wrong" with the car when I'm finished with it. :D

My uncle knows a thing or two about fixing up cars but he's no gear head either. So I expect to make plenty of mistakes along the way.

That's a nice list. I was considering a challenger as well.

I even considered a 76 Torino, but ... naaaah. :D

Still my favorite car that I ever owned was a '73 Gran Torino Sport. Wow what a rush. To be so big and heavy, that thing would fly!!!! I still have the 351 Cleveland that was in it. Hopefully one day I'll get a '71 Mach 1 to drop it in. Or a '66 Mustang.

Still liked that Torino yet one of my vehicles I currently have is an '03 GT Convertible Mustang.

Here's some of the cars I'm considering bidding on...

Impala

^^^ Obviously I'd not keep it as a low rider.

Camaro

GTO

Charger

Impala

^^^ That auction ended (with no winner) but it is a nice car. I've emailed the guy to try and make him an offer but haven't recieved a reply yet.

Those are just a few that I'm watching (watching a total of 33).
