Amigo, if you can make the drive anywhere go see him. It's worth it. This guy makes you actually think about stuff. He spares no one and the way he won't apologize for it. I would share some of what he said but people are too sensitive to a lot of stuff. Suffice it to say I had a blast and I laughed my butt off.ChldsPlay;1090556 said:Sucks, he's not going anywhere near Kansas City. Mencia is great. It was cool when my father-in-law was living with us and when Carlos went off in spanish he'd bust out laughing and my wife and I had no idea what he said and had to get the translation. Now we don't get any translations...but that's the only bad thing about him being gone.

He openly admits to being born in Honduras. He plays off that quite well in showing how people stereotype without knowing.stealth;1107119 said:he is an act theif and a liar, the guy isn't even mexican he is half german and half honduran. Most other comics hate the guy. I will admit it is a good show but I won't pay a guy who steals other people's jokes. He also owes a buddy of mine almost a grand for limo services he neer paiid for. Not starting a fight or anything I just can't stand people that pawn off other peoples work as their own.
I know nothing of what you're accusing him of. I go to a show to laugh, not to choose sides.stealth;1107207 said:I have seen him, it is a good show and I admitted that.
he didn't start admitting he was honduron till another comic called him out on it.
the other difference is other comics use each other's jokes with permission he steals jokes. What you don't see is alot of comics pay for the right to use other's material but that happens behind the scenes.
It is a very good show, I am just prejudiced.
My brother-in-law is a magician/juggler. I've opened his show with a short stand up act. I have then seen something original by me end up on Comedy Central by another comedian. I was honored, though I am kind of pissed that he never became famous for it. Means I wasn't funny enough. That's just me.stealth;1107239 said:comics jokes are their living, its like selling a painting you didn't paint and claiming you did paint it.
while the content of the painting is the same regardless the true artist suffers.
I am not gonna argue my point, I said my piece.
hope anyone that sees the show enjoys it.
I always got great laughs with my skit. The professional comedian who used my stuff didn't. He didn't do it the same way, that may be why, but I think they were just being polite to me.stealth;1107312 said:it doens't mean you weren't funny enough it means perhaps the delivery was flawed.
mitch hedburg was hilarious but no one but him could sell those jokes.
I have tried to tell one of his jokes and all I get is crickets, the same joke told by him killed.
comedy is pretty fascinating to me, its all in the way you tell the joke not really the joke itself.
Like one time when I got fired from a construction project by an owner who was upset that I went to Marie Calendar's for dinner. Her reasoning was that the Marie Calendar's CEO supports Planned Parenthood.
