Rob was never the problem. The issue is our D is devoid of consistent talent outside of Lee and a constantly injured Ware.

I think Carr has proven himself to be pretty consistant. He may get a pass on him every now and then, but I think he's as close to a shut-down corner that we've had since Deion.

Sidenote: Some folks asked about Talib, but others (myself included) thought his off-the-field crap just wouldn't work. Have to credit NE for taking care of that guy. I don't think he'd be doing as well on/off the field here in Dallas. Coaching makes a difference...and being coachable makes a difference. Talib had his issues, but the guy can obviously be coached and managed.

I think Dallas, both the organization and its fans, do not have the patience to develop a team. I still think that this organization's core problems start with the owner and GM.

This defense is not designed to confuse an offense. It is designed to execute better and take advantage of offensive mistakes, without making them yourself. When you face a team that does not make mistakes and you cannot pressure the QB, it's going to be a long day. That's the strategy they went with this year, right or wrong.

I'll agree on Carr, but that still makes for a pretty barren defense.

Brandon Carr: "They beat us in every phase. We were always a step too late. They always checked into the right play call to burn us..."

This is a red flag that we may have made a mistake letting Rob Ryan go.

It's a good thing the next QB we face doesn't have a history of checking into right plays to burn defenses...

When multiple coaches come in and have the same results....perhaps it's the players. Ryan looks pretty good in NO right now. Zimmer has done fairly well in Cinncy. End of the day, players are the one who need to make plays.

When multiple coaches and hundreds of different players comes in and have the same results ... it starts from up top.

This is what i've been harping on since last night. Rivers completely dominated the game at the line of scrimmage with his pre-snap reads. Peyton will eat this defense for supper.

This defense got owned yesterday. I hope this changes in the next game, but I will temper my expectations considering who we are playing next week.

With Rob we had guys on our team confused and not executing their assignments as the play was drawn up. Now we have players knowing the play but not executing their assignments well, and the opposing qb knows what play to audible into. It does come down to the players making plays, but coaches put players in positions to make plays. Last night Belichek got Gonzalez "butched" at the line by two guys, removing him from the equation completely. That's good coaching. I'd like to see adjustments like that from our coaches.

A week ago we were praying Maranelli doesn't leave our team and Kiffin was a breathe of fresh air. A week later we are terrible and we should've never got rid of Rob Ryan.

This defense NEVER generated turnovers or sacks under Rob Ryan. Its doing it now.

Great post, the D might not be great, but they are dealing with injuries to Rat, Spencer, Ware, are in a new scheme and starting a couple of young players. They should improve.

I'm more worried about the offense, a healthy Dez/Murrey/Witeen and they are not tearing **** up. Disappointed.

I wonder if there is any chance Peyton eats a bad Papa John's pizza & misses the game with food poisoning?

I wouldn't want Rob back.
