"...Because a year from now, these guys are gong to be really something."

Looks like Pete gets it.

It's awesome to think how much better the offensive line could be with a year of experience and playing together. If we manage the cap, have a decent defensive draft and maybe grab one solid free agent we absolutely should be in the Super Bowl conversation next season.

This team has a young core in key positions... Things should finally trend up for the organization finally.

I think Vaughn is on the 53 for a reason...

I hope you're right, he's got some tools for sure but it wouldn't hurt drafting a guy next year in the mid rounds or someone falls unexpectedly.

I assumed it was to groom him as a backup. He's done NOTHING to warrant passing up a high qb prospect next year.
I tend to agree with the second part of that, but I don't think you keep a 3rd QB on the roster thinking, "Wow, this guy could be a great #2 someday." You can get backups pretty easily, you don't waste a roster spot on a potential backup.

I would probably at least give him next year to see how he progresses, and then get serious about the position in 2016.

If we do draft a QB next year, I hope it's with an eye of replacing Weeden.

I don't know....I don't think we even have a viable back up now. I think they believe it benefits them to have a young cheap backup qb as opposed to having a 3 million a year backup qb like Orton.

And you're right. I do think they believe he has potential. I just hope it doesn't stop them from passing up a high qb prospect but I hope it allows for them to pass up maybe a overrated prospect like the Johnny Football of next years draft.

I don't disagree necessarily, but it all depends on where you think you're going to draft a QB. If this team is just a player or two away, I don't think you spend an early pick on a QB, especially if you have any belief in Vaughan. If you find a guy in the 3rd or 4th who you think could compete for the #2 right away and compete with Vaughan long term, I think you pull the trigger.

I would like for them to show the entire nation, Pete is a year too late on his thoughts....:)

I would, too. Dearly. I got a bad feeling about this one, though. Just about any other challenge in the league I'd like our chances better. And SEA looks to me like they've taken a step forward on offense from last year's team and a step backward on defense. It's just so tough to go up there and beat a very good team in a place they have only lost one game in over the last three years.

I'm just hoping we limit or eliminate our turnovers and play a solid game like we played the Saints two weeks ago. Beat SEA, and I'll start to believe we're capable of doing some damage down the stretch, but I'm worried McClain won't heal magically this week and we'll be in trouble when we go in there because we just won't have the horses to play sideline to sideline aggressively enough to be competitive on defense.

In the article it states:

The Cowboys' running game might be ranked No. 2 in the NFL, but Seattle will point out that Lynch and Co. are No. 1

They are a good running team, but it is in large part to Russell Wilson and his yardage. Take away the QB's 209 rushing yards and that team has 460 yards, which would be tied for 17th in the NFL with Atlanta.

Take away Romo's 34 yards and Dallas still has 766 yards, or still second in the NFL... which of course would really be first without Wilson's yards.

Don't get me wrong... I think Marshawn Lynch is a monster, but that team hasn't been running like the best run game in the league if you take away Wilson's yards. Lynch is averaging 76.5 yards per game, good for 11th overall. Murray is running for 134.0 yards per game, first in the NFL or almost twice as much as Lynch is.
