Reading through here, yeah, I think we all have done some dumb things in cars. Unfortunately, some of our choices our friends made were unrecoverable. That is the thing about pushing cars to their limits, when things go south on you, they go south quick!

I tried to stay mature and think my decisions through with my cars, but I'm not going to BS you, I had my moments where I thought "well, that was stupid".

That's just weird. I never understood why they didn't either keep the Chevelle name or rename the car completely.

Or leave one of them with the more square design with some tweaks. The older I get the more I appreciate the simplicity of the early versions.

Yeah, it doesn't get much better than this! Also like the older Novas with similar body style.

Well, not much to mention but I've easily had the ugliest thing you'll see in this thread. Mid-1970's Chevy Monza. That's maroon outside, and inside, and everywhere else. Pretty sure the rims were maroon, too. AM/FM radio and single dash speaker. I'll give it credit. It kept me alive when I drove the damn thing into the side of a mountain.

I remember my Pops taking me to a Chevrolet dealer, had to be around 16 years old give or take. Begged him to get me this red Monza that was around 4200$. Looking back was glad he didn't. Also wanted a Fiero at one time only to find out they were junk.

Man, $4200 hundred? My folks paid $1400 when I first got my license. Condition-wise, it wasn't bad. Some older lady had been storing it after her husband died like 15-20 years prior. The damn thing blew the radiator hose (bad thermostat) the first day I drove it to high school. That was fun.

It was brand new, can't recall the exact year. Maybe around 1979-ish.

Had way to many cars Still have my favorite A 1964 Buick Wildcat MINT CONDITION looks new am giving it to my grand daughter when she graduates Collège Fastest car I ever had was a 1982 RX7

It is my humble opinion that Rotary motors were more dependable that Piston motors. The RX7 i had was a pretty good car.
