you get a concurrence with that partiality. What happens when your QB doesn't see you open across the middle and flicks it out to the flat where the RB is whos blanketed by a linebacker? A quarterback isn't going to see a wide open player all the time, esp one who "locks on" to certain players

A 1st and a 3rd pick, and a physique that is better than any other WR on our roster tells me that Romo *should* be looking for RW on his first read. However, he isn't throwing to him that much, even when he has time in the pocket to scan the field.

WOW!!!!!!! Thanks for bringing up the STATS figures kid. Did you see the list for passes not caught? Williams is tied for 19th with a bunch of other folks at 14 passes not caught. Yet, he only has 1 drop. So, what does that tell me? Romo has thrown him A LOT of uncatchable passes.

I can't believe I'm saying this, especially because he did drop his share of passes, BUT T.O. may have had a point regarding Romo and some of his passes last year when complaining about the quality (not quantity) of passes coming his way. Hmmmmmmmmmmm............Romo has to get his mojo back.

I dont concentrate on the NFC ranks, hes T7th in the NFC, yet is 3rd with 19.5 ypc (P. Crayton is 4th with 18.1, top is Jennings with 21.8)

Could be multiple reasons, only person who knows is Romo. Only reason I will neglect is the not familiar with Williams excuse. I wish i could see the play book and see which plays are deisigned for a 1wr first look though

Once again stats fool us, and hide the truth. You have to actually make an effort to get OPEN, so the QB can throw your way. Then you either catch it or you don't.

There is a rite of passage to even be considered on a play, and RW has failed there.

This dude has been dead for weeks. At least his replacement on the roster will have a pulse.

what about running precise routes and creating separation? you agree that he has failed at that?

Yeah, well it didn't help that Roy was talking scared before the game. This is supposed to be a very physical WR. I like RW but being coached by Captain Cupcake and this need to express his sensitive side is really starting to show. Getting hit and doing that half asssss first down arm point he likes to do didn't look to good during the game either.

You don't show another team that has Brian Dawkins in the backfield they are physically getting to you. Even before the game letting everyone know you're panicking. You're just asking for it. What the hell was he thinking? A human resources representative was going to come down and make sure he didn't have to play the game on that $525,000.00 a regular season game salary he is on?

Perhaps we're finally discovering that Romo has something against WRs. Perhaps he just doesn't like them. That would explain the frequent tosses to Witten.

Emmitt Smith played with one shoulder basically against New York in 94. He basically took over that game in the second half with one shoulder. ONE SHOULDER and STILL was ALOT of football to play. They won because of him. He toughed it out. Getting hit or piled on that SAME injured Shoulder EVERY TIME he touched the ball.

# 11 is a wuss. Plain and simple. Rub some dirt on it and get out there for TWO plays MR. So called #1.

Course, that was Emmitt Smith. Best RB ever and understood what it takes to win.

Roy is no Emmitt.

Yeah, it was his LACK OF EFFORT that got him crushed by DJ Williams. Had he NOT made an effort to reach a 9-10 foot high pass, he probably would not have gotten rib damage. But, again, it's Roy's fault that Romo can't throw straight these days. Just like it was Roy's fault that Romo almost got Crayton decapitated on the same route that Roy ran on the very next play.

That's right, because every WR in the NFL has to create "visible" seperation (to you or I) to be considered open to their respective QB. So, with your logic, Brandon Marshall did NOT create seperation from TNew when he caught the game-winning TD. Outjumping the DB is NOT seperation. Or, how about the fact that on a) the drag route that Romo threw 2 feet BEHIND HIM, b) THE PLAY WHERE HE GOT BLOWN UP, or c) the pick 6 that Romo threw 5 feet over his head in the Giants game when he ran a perfect slant route, he had created seperation from the defender (in both cases in the Denver game it was against Champ). But, like you say, stats don't say much of anything. All I know is if a guy has 25 passes thrown at him, has only 11 catches, and YET only has 1 drop - it ain't all on him. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way, the 2 games that they have won, people seem to get open. Yet, in the 2 losses, it's all on the WR's and TE's. Hmmmmmmmmm.................very interesting

Really agree with this. I recall Irvin never getting separation but aikman did two things. He was accurate and he gave his rec. a fighting chance. Not comparing Irvin to Roy but romo has not been giving his receivers enough of a chance because of his being inaccurate.

Can someone explain to me why a penalty wasn't called on this play for hitting a defensless receiver? I mean isn't that pretty much the definition of the rule? Sensabaugh got fined for less than that.

Has anyone on this board a) ever had that injury & b) tried to play a football game with said injury? I did in the 11th grade (running back a kickoff and jumped over a guy - got hit in my ribs by a guy that weighed 50+ lbs. more than me). I missed the next 2 games because I couldn't lift my right arm over my head for like 10 days. I had a bruise on my side that went from right below my armpit to my waist.

What's my point? To all you that think that Roy is being a wuss, think again. As the Dr. told me after the game, torn rib cartilage can hurt damn near as much as having your ribs broken. And, he has damge to not just one rib, but 3.

I don't disagree it's incredibly painful and more than any of us could tolerate. But let me ask you this - in that game, heat of the moment and all the adrenaline flowing, with 3rd and goal and 4th and goal from the 3 and the game on the line, do you think Michael Irvin or Jerry Rice would be standing on the sidelines?
