Hey, I have question about this.

The San Diego Chargers were the #1 Seed last year when they lost, so why does everyone say the Cowboys were the 1st to do it?

First in the NFC, I think.

Why that matters, who knows. Except it makes for a juicier story.

Cool.

That is what I told my Co-worker yesterday when he asked me but he told me that a local radio talking head insisted that was the entire NFL.

yep. guilty.

i was out to enjoy the season, not prepare myself for the eventual end way too early.

all that whining, complaining and shouting you did, any of it help change anything? so you can't even enjoy a win and some record breaking performances because you're so focused on the negative.

i focused on the positive.

you wanna get angry - go ahead. you wanna get angry at ME because i chose to enjoy an ENTERTAINMENT EVENT, go ahead.

beware, i'll do it again next year!

Hey, whatever it takes to knock our proud franchise down a few notches, I suppose! Any negative spin on the Dallas Cowboys makes for front-page, breaking news-type coverage...the Haterade flows freely throughout the US!

Personally, I'm happy that the Parcell's disciples are following him to Miami.
I didn't realize there were so many of them in the Cowboys organization.
Does anyone think there might be a reason we faded down the stretch, just like we always did under Parcells. (Hint - we still have most of his staff, with his philosophies) Don't get me wrong, Parcells is good, but he is not the football god the NY media makes him out to be. It always bothered me that he was making Dallas into the NYFG south. He's nothing but a football mercenary. Clean em out. Good riddance. Jason Garrett not included in this rant, I hope he stays. Getting off soap box now.

the reason they are taking our assistants is because everyone knows wade is a proven loser. and a lame duck coach in general.

the rest of the NFL knows where the winning came from.

10-6 and playing in the Championship game sounds better to me. But keep telling yourself 13-3 one and done in the playoffs if it makes you any feel better. ;)

I agree.

And.... 13-3 was not indicative of our play throughout the season.

One the Giants games could have went the other way.
Buffalo game.
Detroit game.

A handful of other games where we didnt score in 1st or scored very little in first half to overcome that by winning in 2nd half.

This team could have easily gone 9-7 or 10-6. Those rabbits that we pulled out of our hats during the season werent there in the playoffs.... but then I think back to Crayton the 2nd to last play of game arghhh.....:banghead:

Whats interesting is that this is the 4th straight year a #1 seed has been knocked out in the divisional round.

The previous three 2006 SD, 2005 IND, 2004 PIT. Probrem is that all three were AFC seeds and that still leaves the door open to knock down those hated Cowboys a peg because they're the first NFC team to blow a #1 seed in a long time.

You know what's interesting? Pit won the SB in 2005 and the Colts won it in 2006. Also SD, last years #1 seed loser, is still alive. Hmmmmmmmmm.

i really doubt that, bb. i'd like to think we're all more than what others read in here. most just see a few words on the screen and got it all figured out.

i'm in no way saying i didn't see weak areas. i point them out all the time. 2 years ago i was crying our OL sucked and needed love.

i know our team is far from perfect and i also know you have casual fans to the die hards and that has extremes on both sides as all situations do. but if i came in here bching and whining about romo, or jjones, or the like, much like when i did it about the OL, it changed nothing and i just didn't care about football like i used to.

i wanna care about it again in a manner that has less stress on me and the things that i cannot change.

if i'm a lesser fan to you - great. that matters as much as those whining about roy williams and changes just as much.

i said this in another thread - but parcells tanked towards the end in every year, right? yet he's still regarded as a prime coach even though "history" shows us to be a weak team in december.

now how can you have a multi-year history and focus only on the last person to be HC? you can't. but people do.

again, people demanded parcells was given his due for the teams 13-3 record but i don't see anyone putting blame on the playoff loss on him. how come only the good goes over to the gods?

You know.... I am glad you brought up the O-line.

Yes its better but I dont think that it is that much better than it was. I think the major difference is Romo behind center.

We still cant run block for sheot. Our pass blocking is even suffering.

I wouldnt mind seeing us look into a new center and left guard.

this also got me nailed to the wall when i suggested a more mobile qb was giving the impression of a better OL. the reason we know romo is good on the run or on a roll out is because he has to do it a lot.

our running game has been spotty at best. part julius, part OL.

when romo can't get away from bad line play people blame romo cause he's done it before.

so let our OL coach go. our OL wasn't good enough anyway.

Well if you did get nailed for it thats unfortunate.... because while the line is better.... if we had a less mobile QB I am sure things would be ALOT different.

Agree on O-line and Julius.... but even Barber has to OFTEN bounce it outside because defenses are able to clog/plug the holes.

Games are won on the lines. BOTH lines. THAT should be a focus.

won and lost in the trenches, man.

open up a hole, an average rb becomes great.
protect the qb and give him time, he can hit anyone.

we do have a better line than we did 2-3 years ago, but it's got a ways to go before we can expect more consitant play. if things start on the line, the rest of the team reflects that. if the line is inconsistant, so are the players.

While I am in agreement with you on this.

I gotta say... we could have snuck by to the next round in spite of our situation on the line.

Inconsistency on the line affecting others. I agree somewhat.
BUT.... that Mother Flower Crayton is still burning me up inside.

The Packer game would have been tough.
Favre and his never winning there.. maybe he finally would have - who knows
or
Us having to go 5-0 against Giants and Packers to get to SB would have been tough.

But man... just one of those drops from Crayton if caught..... man.... I am more over the loss than I am with Crayton.

yep. but it still didn't make the line look better. i think *overall* crayton had a good year. for a good #3 he did ok as a #2. we know his limits now and wade can work within/around them. bad timing to find out when we did, sure. but not really a surprise overall.

crayton is in many ways a freddie mitchell. a lot of mouth but fails in critical times.
