I’ve been a fan for a very long time. It has been easy with our historical past to become quite enamored with certain players. Players like Roger, Lilly, The Whites…E. Smith, Irvin ect… will always hold a special place within me. The coach of all coaches will always be Tom Landry for me. To be honest it took me a long time to even begin to like Jimmy Johnson.

The past few years have been very difficult for me, as a fan to jump up and down for certain players. None of them have been stand outs. A Player that captures your heart with their awesome abilities. Sure, we have had some good players, yet they lacked that driving force, that fire in their eyes.

This team, however does have me excited. On defense, Newman has been a player. It’s not just his ability to cover any wr. It’s his all around play, making awesome run stopping hits. IMO, he’s our most valuable player on the defensive side of the ball. Ware is beginning to grow on me as well. I can’t help but scream when he lays a hit on the opposing team.

On Offense, it’s Glenn without a shadow of a doubt. This guy is just mouth dropping good. The catches this man pulls down aren’t just mind boggling; they always come at the most opportune times. Romo looks like the real deal. I know he had a dreadful game, all quarterbacks do. He just makes plays.

This team is moving in the right direction. Who are the players that have caught your eye? I realize we are Cowboy fans, all our players are the best in the NFL. But honestly, which ones have really made you say…WOW!!!

That's it?

He does have me looking. I would like to see more balls downed behind the 20 though. I think it's a lost art, angling a kick to go out at the 2, 3 the 5.

My recent "wow reactions" have gone to Ware, Romo, Glenn, McBriar, and Gramatica (when he hit the game winner).

Personally I think Demarcus ware is the best player on the team.

I really enjoy watching Bradie james and Newman too.

There is only 1 thing about this team I dont like, and its one player.

Anyway. I like the makeup of the team. I dont know if any of these guys are hall of famers, but I have hope for many of them to be difference makers.

Well I suppose so...

But 2 championships in 30 years??

Nowadays if a guy dont win 1 (or real darn close to it) in bout 3 years it's time to send him packing.. go figure!

;) ;)

this team has players not Playmakers... those Jimmy teams had guys that whould turn the game around... turn a season around!!! I cant even recall thelast time this team blocked a punt!!! Jimmys team did it with flair this team does it with fluff!!! When Emmitt ran you knew it was a matter of time before he did something you would never forget... JuJo runs I try hard to forget!
Jimmy would but the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP game on ICE by telling all of DALLAS to sleep well in "3 INCH TYPE"... BP is 3 inches from leaving.

This team is fun thanks to ROMO... But unlike the team that played last year and the Great Jimmy teams and most all of the COWBOY TEAMS in the past this team has NO HEART!

While it was the 70s team that I remember as a youth, it was the 90s team and Jimmy Johnson that will always be my favorite. Basically because I was the same age as all of those dudes and it was the first great Dallas team of my "adulthood."

Julius Jones is another guy i really like, have liked him since we drafted him

I'm 37 and have the exact same feeling about the 90's teams. Emmitt is one month older than me. Most of the team was within 3 years of my age.

I waited from 16 years from age 8 to age 24 for that next Suberbowl.
I think time kind of moves faster the older you get. That 16 year wait was loooong. This current 10 year wait is nothing.

I think fans in thier mid 30's to early 40's will always have the strongest feelings for that team.

The guy that jumps out at me now is Romo. I've been on his bandwagon since the Seattle game this summer. I believe he has it all.
At this point nothing or nobody can sway me.

There are a lot of players on the current team I really love.

Terry of course, who is a long time favorite NFL player for me. And Fergy, who I've followed since he was a rookie. I also like AH a lot, and follow his ups and downs with much attention.

Of the players Dallas has drafted in recent years, I have many favorites. JJ, Jason, Tony, Dre, MBIII, Tnew, Ware, Canty, Burnett, Spears, Ratliff, Hatcher, Thompson..all of them have my best wishes and I follow their progress avidly.

I also have a special fondness for Roy. He's probably my favorite player after TG.

The Cheerleaders have caught my eye since around 1971 - 1972.

Henry catches my eye too, everytime I see him, I am hoping the ball isn't going his way.

That dark-hair fan from the Saints game that held the sign reading:

Tony, Forget Jessica, Date me.

She sure caught my eye... both of them actually.

Almost forgot Roy. I'll always have a soft spot for him because of a predraft interview he gave. Some of you might have seen it. They asked him to rank the best college players and how he thought they should be drafted.
He ran down this list and put Jammer at 5 and himself going to Dallas at 6.

That ment a lot to me. He grew up a Cowboy fan. Was a huge Cowboy fan. And wanted nothing more than to play for the Cowboys. He had no interest in being drafted higher and making more money. I mean we're talking hundreds of thousands perhaps millions more.

I got the feeling he was as big a fan as any of us. That went a long way with me.

I'm about you age, but the teams that I relate to the most were those of the late 70's to early 80's. Those were my grade school to early high school years. As much as I loved the 90's Cowboys and their success, the ultimate for me would've been if one of those 80-82 teams would've won the Super Bowl.

Dorsett, Pearson, Hill, Too Tall, R. White, Martin, Landry, Staubach, D. White, etc. were the guys I practically idolized. They were like bigger than life to me. The 90's team with the triplets and Jimmy were awesome and I loved every minute of it. But for me, the team I grew up with is the one I feel strongest about.

The 60’s and 70’s were grade school and High School for me. The 70’s teams will always be dear to me. Roger and R. White will always be my favorite Cowboys. Although Irvin and Smith run very high on the list. Tom Landry will always be what the Cowboys are about, the man, the hat, and the style.

Hoyte is growing on me quite a bit. I have a friend at work who is an NC State grad, and he told me when Dallas got Hoyte as an undrafted rookie FA he thought he would stick with the team. Didn't think it would be at fullback, but I'm glad it's working out for him. I love his hustle, his power, and the fact that he is still raw and should only get better.
