Guys:
I wanted to see if I was missing something on one particular play. In this case the TV presented a clear picture of the NY receiver and Henry appeared to be 10-15 yards back. The receiver came off the line and Henry retreated even further. It was an easy pitch and catch for a 10-15 yard gain with no attempt by Henry to defend the play.
I assume the Cowboys were in a zone, but is Henry supposed to be that far off the receiver? Is the Linebacker supposed to drop back and cutoff the short hook/slant?
I don't see how you can compete if you just give the other team an easy 10-15 yard completion.
The real question: Is the defense designed this way or is Henry just too insecure to play his position aggressively?
Comments?
