I am totally depressed and mad as hell now. I mean, you don't get that close to landing the next Deion Sanders only to see him slip through your fingers. Wow, this is a tough one to swallow!

I wouldn't overreact to this.

#1 - any new agent that walked into this situation isn't going to nod his head, mumble his approval and sign off. No matter what the agent has to at least LOOK like he is smarter than the last agent, able to get a better deal, yatta yatta. Anyone walking into this situation as the new agent is going to do something like this.

#2 - Its a typical ploy - and sometimes the only card in the deck - for agents to claim they are visiting another team. If you remember the negotiations with Greg Hardy last year it dragged out a day, then "rumors appeared" that Hardy was going to leave for another visit and then the final details were worked out.

Pay attention to the forest, not the trees.

Gore backed out of a deal with Philly and ran to the colts soooo um yea it's pretty much the same if he signs with indy

Gore did it before free agency started. He agreed during that tampering period called them told them no and signed with the pigeons when free agency started. It's more like the agent looking to see how much more money.

He is a POS for this. You agree to terms on a deal then get a new agent and reneg on the deal because you want more money?? His word is worth nothing at this point

Sure, but his bank account is about to be worth plenty.

Isn't that illegal? If a deal is done in principle wouldn't reneging on it be bad faith? I don't know how the laws in the States work.

No. I am sure their CBA requires these contracts to be in writing.

Its not about the player, no one wants to keep Carr, at least at current price....this move potentially forces the issue.
