I never understood why Moore wasn't kept. He was a decent depth guy.

Newman was long in the tooth but had a rebirth when he left here....he has played pretty well.

Jenkins wasn't a bad pick, injuries ruined him.

Alan Ball was ok but his contract was up and he wasn't worth paying free agent dollars. Robinson and Hayward are the two guys that I have some interest in. Carroll is not an upgrade over anyone.

For whatever reason, he was never really valued in Dallas. All he ever did was play solid football.

True, but 3 teams have given up on him, so there is something about Moore teams don't like.

Interesting that Claiborne is still out there and some pretty low salaries are already starting to fall in place for cornerbacks. If we resign Mo, it looks like it may be for a lot less than anticipated.

Mo should be paying the DC to wear the star at this point. Hope they pass (no pun intended).

Only delusional fans expected otherwise. Dont get what some see in him.

In an article posted here about Thornton, it mentioned that Casey Hayward has seen some interest from us. Is there any proof of that or just a writer making a blurb?

I was looking for more info on that, too. Probably a case of us being interested at the right price and, if he's around next week, we'll maybe talk.

There has to be a reason Robinson is still out there. Either Chargers are working with him on a new contract, he's asking far too much, or all the fuss about him is unwarranted.

You are right, Michael. My mistake.

If anyone knows their mediocre CBs, it would most definitely be you.

That was a tough one, because it was Winicki's knowledge of mediocre CBs against your ability to criticize without really knowing what you're talking about. I was very conflicted as to what I thought might happen there. Good work, you two.

Robinson had a pretty good year last year so I wonder if he's asking for too much, trying to cash in on his solid season.

Interesting idea for sure. I really hope they catch a falling CB star at some point. A tier 2 guy for reasonable money is really what we need, and someone who's flexible into the slot perhaps.

Maybe like an Aaron Glenn type vet. Nothing flashy but solid.

Well, the good news is the bar for treading water isn't all that high. A deal at CB equivalent to what we did at DT yesterday would be great. Then we can hotbox Carr or Claiborne and hopefully add one somewhere in the middle rounds of the draft. I want to save the higher picks for the DL.

Bring in TNew to play safety. Instant upgrade, even at age 38. He still wants to play.

Not sure if serious or tongue-in-cheek.

Minneapolis Star-Tribune said:
With FS Harrison Smith and SS Andrew Sendejo both ailing, Newman played safety in Week 14 against the Cardinals. He could do so again on Sunday against the Bears. Although he's 37, Newman has very, very quietly been one of the league's steadiest corners this season. An impending free agent, he could spend time at both positions in 2016.

I see some jabs at Ball but he became an acceptable NFL corner. And actually he played a decent corner for the Cowboys until the failed experiment at safety.

For a guy who I believe was a backup player in college to now hanging in the league 7-8 years, I'd say he's doing OK.

Alan Ball got a bad rep here but as a corner he was fine. When they moved him to safety is what ruined him. People don't remember that.
