I would just move on from Free and get a younger Right Tackle. Does anyone know if he got the surgery on his foot? Bryan Broaddus said that the injury was more serious than you think we he injured it. I think we can find a good tackle in rds1-3.

Did they say if we lost $3.98 million or picked it up on the cap?

Lost.

It's been figured for a long time that this was going to happen.

It's the result of the contract renegotiation Free did a couple years ago.

Free is one fifth of the best offensive line in the NFL. I am not thrilled about this. As if you can replace him with anyone. I want him back.

It was basically predetermined when Free renegotiated a couple years ago.

Was this already figured into the cap, or is the 2015 cap now reduced by this?

The cap wouldn't be reduced. The amount of dead money within the cap is increased to reflect the charge, and thus the amount of available cap space is reduced.

By doing this it is only costing $1,395,000.00 extra against the cap as his contract was already counting some against the 2015 cap.

I'm in favor of getting younger and more athletic at RT. Foot injuries for big men worry me.

Free had surgery on his foot/ankle in both Jan 2014 and Jan 2015.

I see Parnell as the starter from day 1..... Unless something extraordinary happens with the Skins.... Which is very palpable

He was already shown as counting 3.02M against the 2015 cap. Now he counts 3.98M against the 2015 cap. His 2016 cap charge decreased from 0.96M to Zero.
