8:22 pm Former Cowboys fan LaDainian Tomlinson is excited about playing at Dallas on Sunday. When he played at Dallas as a rookie, L.T. may have been overly excited. He wore diamond studs in his ears. The diamonds were dislodged during the game, and L.T. never recovered them.
8:10 pm LT Marcus McNeill said he'll watch "The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game" this week. The movie is about Ravens LT Michael Oher. Asked what a movie about him would be titled, McNeill laughed. "The Mack," he said, referring to a 1973 flick starring Richard Pryor.
7:53 pm LT Marcus McNeill could be in the midst of earning a third selection to the Pro Bowl. "He's just been super steady, super consistent all season," Philip Rivers said.
7:28 pm Philip Rivers is thankful that Marcus McNeill is protecting his blind side so well this year, but Rivers said McNeill's fun-loving approach keeps him on his toes between plays. "He's the one guy I always have to harp on because he likes to look around," Rivers said. McNeill said it's important that he stays "loose and relaxed."
6:52 pm LT Marcus McNeill said he likes to "jaw-jack" with opponents during games. What does he say? "It's more friendly fire than, 'I'm going to kill you, sucka.'"
6:38 pm LaDainian Tomlinson, a Texan who grew up rooting for the Cowboys, is eager to see the Cowboys' new stadium. "I can't wait. This is the next thing -- this stadium. This is as big as it gets. I'd like to see where Jerry Jones is sitting, check it out."
6:24 pm Philip Rivers doesn't seem worried that LT Marcus McNeill is in a walking boot because of a sprained ankle. "I'm sure he'll be ready to go," Rivers said.
6:15 pm New football term, courtesy of Chargers LT Marcus McNeill: Jaw-jacking. Definition: Smack talk between NFL players during a game. Example: "If a reserve comes in against me, I'll tell him, 'I need your three best moves right now, (or else) you're going to get me in trouble with my coach -- because I haven't seen you on film.'"
5:46 pm Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers said teammates have teased LT Marcus McNeill about having to block Cowboys sack specialist DeMarcus Ware on Sunday. Some players jokingly told him that's why he sprained his ankle at Cleveland. McNeill said he "circled" Sunday's date because of his regard for Ware.
5:19 pm Shawne Merriman, slowed by plantar fasciitis, hasn't practiced in two weeks and sat out Sunday's game in Cleveland. Does Merriman expect to play at Dallas? "I'm banking on it," said Merriman, who added that he will need clearance from medical staff and coach Norv Turner.
4:56 pm Chargers LT Marcus McNeill is wearing a boot today to protect his sprained left ankle. Coach Norv Turner said he has some concern about McNeill's readiness for Sunday's game at Dallas, but McNeill said he will play. "It's perfectly fine," McNeill said. "We just want to stay on top of it."
3:42 pm C Nick Hardwick's attempted comeback from ankle surgery has taken another detour. Norv Turner said Hardwick had a setback late last week that led to a medical exam. The former Pro Bowler might return within three weeks, Turner said, but is a "longshot" to play at Dallas.
3:34 pm The Chargers have concerns about protecting QB Philip Rivers at Dallas. Norv Turner said the Cowboys "can rush from the edge as well as anybody in the NFL." Marcus McNeill, who protects Rivers' blind side, is gimpy because of a sore ankle. "I think he'll be all right, but the ankle concerns me," Turner said.
3:15 pm LT Marcus McNeill (sprained ankle) likely will practice this week, Norv Turner said.
3:13 pm DT Alfonso Boone (bruised knee) is doubtful for practice this week, Norv Turner said.
3:11 pm Norv Turner said he is optimistic that DE Luis Castillo (calf) and OLB Shawne Merriman (foot) will play at Dallas, "but I understand we could be without both of them."
3:09 pm Chargers FS Eric Weddle (knee) is a longshot to play against the Cowboys on Sunday, Norv Turner said.
