Why would a 53 man roster need 4 QB's? Especially since Danny White is the punter.https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...arterback-defense-looks-utterly-impenetrable/
Thoughts?
As good as the offense is, the defense is down right nasty.
Take Tony the thrill Hill out.Take Dak out and add Erik Williams
i'd probably do glover and ratliff over hennings.
bates i'd replace with kevin smith.
He was a nickel CB and man cover guy as well as thumper.
He played FS next to RW31.
If they played in the same era RW31 would have been All-Pro every year LOL.
And I don't mean speed/size of generation I mean ruleset.
Cornell Green played in an era where you could rip heads off and RW31 did that so much they outlawed it.
I have a lot more issues with the offense than defense.
Danny White is a better QB than Tony Romo.
I would take Dorsett over Elliott.
Terrell Owens over Bryant
Bob Hayes over Tony Hill.
Novacek over Witten
Billy Joe Dupree was so underrated.
I'd take Mark Stepnoski over Travis Frederick.
Kevin Gogan over Andre Gurode
Erik Williams over Neely. Before his injury Williams may have been the best OT the Cowboys have ever had, especially against Reggie White.
What is Dexter Coakley doing as the backup to Demarcus Ware?
Bill Bates as a backup CB? Just no. Bates was a special teams guy and maybe a safety but not CB.
This selection of players seems to be biased towards the guys who played more recently.
Amended - somehow I missed Tyron Smith at first look. Why would a 53 man roster need 4 QB's? Especially since Danny White is the punter.
Gurode instead of Niland?
Tuinei instead of Tyron Smith or Erik Williams?
Why is Bill Bates listed with the CB's instead of the safeties?
Whether playing SS or FS Harris would start over Waters.
There were other things I would do differently, but these were the most notable
The league took away the horse collar, not the hard hit. I loved Roy his first several years, but it actually got frustrating watching Williams by the time the horse collar rule was enacted because he was relying more and more on that to make tackles when he should have been wrapping up the man with the ball. Same with the big hits. Too often he would hit people and knock them back a couple of yards, but because he didn’t wrap up they would regain their balance and start running again. In any case, whether a rule is right or wrong a player has to find a way to be effective within the rules.Never saw a player be more neutered by rule changes. Williams was a bounty hunter and receivers feared him. He played with an instinct bring players down hard and when the league took that away, he couldn't change who he was and remain the same player.
I agree that back in Green's day he would have been a beast, but he probably also would have been a linebacker.
I disagree. Give me Harvey and Crazy Charles at bookend DEs all day. I think this is 100% spot on. Two of the best DEs to ever lace them up.One liberty was taken that bothers me a bit.
Using a four man DL and three LBs, and having DeMarcus Ware as an OLB.
Nahh sir.
Yes he only played FS when Roy Williams arrived.SMH at Woody at FS too. He was a SS.
