Take the time to listen to Prisco praise the Cowboys. He says by the end of the year Dallas will have a Fearsome Foursome (corrected to say Doomsday Defense) with that pass rush of Gregory, Hardy, Lawrence, and Crawford.

He goes on to say that Dallas is THE best team in the NFC East.

I enjoyed it very much.

wouldn't DEZ be a way more critical piece to the Cowboys than Nelson is to the Packers?

Losing a 1,500 yd receiver is a big blow. The Pack next receiver Cobb had 1,200 yds and then Adams with 446. No way they are rated #1 without Nelson. Cobb is gonna see more double teams obviously being the #1.

i can agree or side with your point that GB should not be #1 on this list considering who they lost. #5 maybe. #1 No.

Some people seem to believe Cobb won't be that much of a drop off because Rodgers can make it work with anyone as opposed to Romo needing a Dez and the double teams that he brings to make help the Cowboys O work better.

In 2011 Tony Romo made a guy who was a bust before he was in Dallas, Laurent Robinson, and a bust after he was in Dallas and the guy pushed for 1000 yards and caught 11 TD passes.

Great QBs have the ability to make even below-average to average WRs look good.

I think the loss of Nelson will hurt the Packers. I think they'll be able to replace most of his catches and yards by spreading the ball around to their other WRs, however, they aren't going to be able to replace Nelson's uncanny ability to get deep. My guess is that Nelson has had more 50+ yard TD receptions than anybody else in the NFL over the past 5 years.

Davonte Adams feasted on CB3s last year. This year he'll be facing CB1s (Cobb will typically draw the slot CB) -- it's a very big jump.

In summary, like others here, I think losing Nelson hurts them, and I certainly wouldn't rank them as #1 in the NFL going into the season, although I still think they are a playoff team.

Don't see how GB is #1 without their best receiver. If we lost Dez, sports writers would say us going 0-16.

Davante Adams is a monster. You will hear that name ALL YEAR barring injury. Is GB better with him than Jordy? No, but will GB still be in the mix........absolutely.

I completely agree. He is not quite as good as Jordy with his long speed, but he is pretty close in every way and can be even better in the Redzone. He can absolutely be 1b to Cobb's 1a.

He is wrong! Here's is why. Greg Hardy is suspended for the first 4 games of the season. They will have a Fearsome Foursome by week five.

It's true but preseason rankings still suck. This is the NFL not the NCAA where votes matter

For what's worth, USA Today has us ranked # 14 overall behind such teams as Miami, Minnesota, San Diego, etc. Then again, USA Today is a joke. Phil Simms has us ranked # 2 in the NFC.

There are folks in this world that get paid to rank NFL teams that have no business doing so. How do you get that gig?

It wasnt long ago people in Wisconsin were saying the same about jarrett boykin. That didnt turn out as planned. tap the breaks on Davante.

Big difference in talent between those two.
