---Important tidbits from a visit with Cowboys RB FELIX JONES on Friday...he started running full speed a week ago...he still "feels" the toe injury...but he is confident he will be 100% and "normal" soon...and he could care a less who starts...but...feels like all three RB's will help the Cowboys win.

"Still feels the Toe injury".

Something is wrong when you miss time because of a hamstring that turns into a toe injury.

I hope i'm wrong, but this worries me. :(

Jonathan Stewart had the same thing last offseason -- although he was a few months behind Felix's recovery schedule -- and he still rushed for 836 yards at 4.5 YPC, with 10 touchdowns. Felix is well ahead of where Stewart was, so unless he suffers another injury, he should be fine by the time the season starts.

very different backs. Felix without speed is average at best.

I'm glad he's at least running full speed. Let's just pray the pain goes away soon. Man I can't wait for the 2009 season!

Those toe injuries are scary.

Just remember though, so many of our experts here were sure this kid was not a first round talent. Couldn't even start in college, as I recall.

A little worrisome and disturbing knowing he still hasn't fully recovered from those injuries.

Wasn't there someone on the forum that had said toe injuries like the one he suffered have been known to become a chronic issue?

There's a chance it'll bother him the rest of his career, from what I remember reading about his injury, and it becomes easier to injure the more it happens.

I hope he makes a full recovery and we've seen the last of this particular injury.

Lets see, hes up to running now and still feels the pain. Should only be a couple more days before he injures something on the opposite leg.

Gotta love the DC training staff.

GREAT news to hear! I think early in the season though, Dallas should lean on Choice, give Felix as much time as possible to get to 100% so he's healthy and ready for the stretch run!

Six months I believe. I'm not worried, he still has a good 7-8 months to heal up.

-Edit:

Plus it said that he's RUNNING AT FULL SPEED! If he was still in a walking boot then I would be worried.

Re-read the quote.

He didn't say he feels pain or that it's preventing him from doing anything.

He said he still 'feels' it.

As with any injury, there's a mental aspect to recovery and I believe that's what he's referring to.

The toe injury was a compensation injury for the hamstring - while trying to protect it. Stride or foot placement altered.

I think he's still feeling it mentally. When your body is hurt, your brain still retains memory of the injured parts and that take a while to get over. Your brain wants to protect your body, and so sends warning signals to the areas that are hurt as a way to tell you to "be careful".

I'm not a doctor, so this is just an educated guess on my part.
