Sometimes people get a bit carried away with their statistical predictions.

If Romo throws 30 TDs next year, I don't like the odds of our #2 TE catching 1/3 of those TDs.

That would leave 20 TDs for Roy, Witten, Crayton, Austin, Hurd, Barber, Felix, and Choice to share. The first 3 on this list should be good for 20 themselves, maybe more.

i'd say 45 and 4 TDs.

Tdsa re going to be hard to come by because they are usually on designed plays for TEs and you know those will there for Witten or RW11. Not to mention I think we'll run a lot more this year in the red zone.

When is the last time a team had two TEs with 50 catches? A lot of teams talk about two tight end packages (including the Commanders who justified their terrible 2nd round pick last year that way) but off the top of my head, I can't remember it ever working very well, at least in the passing game.

Edit: Erron Kinney and Ben Troupe both had 55 catches for the Titans in 2005. And Pete Holohan and Kellen Winslow did it in 1984 for the Chargers with 56 and 55 receptions respectively. There are others before that too.

Dumb. He'll have a breakout year but he's not going to get 50 passes thrown his way, and 10 TDs is very tough to do. Especially for a backup TE, playing behind the best in the game.

I can see how Martellus may get 50 & 10 with T.O. gone even if we initially want to run more. Gotta go w/ your weapons especially in the red-zone and I'm thinking he's going to develop into "that weapon". We can finally implement more of the two-TE set that I thought we were going to go to when we drafted Fasano...

Thats why they call them predictions!

Its going to be a new look offense this year, and hopefully we will be able to stretch the middle a little bit more with Witten.

I can see 40 - 50 catches for MartyB 6-8 TD's. The man is a playmaker just watch the tape, he is deadly with the ball in and out of his hands. Not to mention someone scrub safety or LB is going to have to cover him.

Roy and Witten will continue to comand doubles. Its up to Hurd, Bennett, and Austin to win there individual match up's

its not inconceivable that martyb gets 7-8 TDs.having the best TD in football should help too.
