Some things just seem to go together. Peanut butter and jelly, cheese and crackers, and bagels and lox.

Former University of Miami, Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins coach Jimmy Johnson says he feels the same way about Super Bowls and South Florida – they just seem to go together.

Johnson, who's now a commentator on Fox, told those gathered at a Super Sunday Brunch at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino that he thinks South Florida should be on the short list to host the big bowl game in the future.

"I think it's a consensus now that I'm in the media. There are two places where you want to have a Super Bowl, either New Orleans or Miami, because of the weather and the activities," said Johnson. "(They) are really the two best places to have a Super Bowl."

Dozens of former Hurricanes and Dolphins players, including Twan Russell, attended the event hosted by the Seminole Tribe Council and its members. When asked he if ever considered returning to coaching, Johnson said right now he loved what he was doing as a commentator.

As for the future of the big games, like the Pro Bowl and Super Bowl – both here in South Florida this year, Johnson said the number speak for themselves.

"Of course the sport is growing every year. You look at the ratings numbers for NFL football and they were way up, for all of the pregame shows, for the regular games. I think it's just a fascination with the game itself for the entire country."

Johnson currently lives in Islamorada where he says he spends most of his time fishing.

Sorry Coach, but any host city sporting a domed stadium (excluding New Orleans) will be bidding for (and landing) Super Bowls for the foreseeable future. How equally host cities shall win bids for the Super Bowl outside of the Crescent City and South Florida is the only question.

If it were up to me it would rotate between the rose bowl, tamp and miami every year and that would be it.

honestly, I would love it if they just turned it into a permanent thing at the rose bowl.

Its a great fit for the nfl in LA and for a single place to represent the super bowl.

Super bowls in domes are the worst.

The NFL better get its head out of its behind or a work stoppage could ruin all the progress over the last 20 years. Fans do not like spoiled, rich players and owners crying because their millions aren't enough - especially when the "real" world is in a very bad, long-lasting recession/depression.

If San Diego gets a new stadium, they would easily be in rotation themselves. As for Dallas, I seem to remember that Houston could have been on the rotation themselves with that great new stadium but they keep losing super bowl bids. I think the same will happen to Dallas.

Huh? Um the Houston home is a hole compared to our new house. Big difference in my eyes.

No it's not. Reliant is a great stadium. Let's be real.

Miami is gonna get a roof as well and renovation. They'll be fine. BTW, there is no rotation anymore and cold weather cities are in play. It looks like the new Meadowlands stadium will land the 2014 Superbowl.

Honestly, South Florida is one of the most beautiful places in the country. The weather is beautiful this time of the year, the restaurants are great, the parties are great. It just feels right here.

Of course, selfishly now that I live in South Florida, I would love to have it here. Especially if the boys make the big game, it would just be absolutely awesome.

My thoughts exactly. I think it will get more and more over other places. For one thing, when the NFL can get over 100,000 fans to a game. They will take that over the 75,000 venues.

Dallas is centrally located, so people will be more willing to travel for the events, even if they do not attend the game.

Only if it is a dome, which I don't think it is. Only cold weather stadiums in consideration are dome stadiums. And they are really in play. After the 1980 SB in Detroit, the weather was so bad, they could not have their outside activities. So I don't think it will happen even in a dome.

Maybe Indy, but not any others.

I agree. Something about that place. And of course having it in LA helps.

I think SB XXVII was the last one there.

Come to think of it, all cities that build new stadiums should get one.

I know that its kind of an unwritten policy, but I think the NFL should make it policy.

It should be part of the process to get the stadium approved and funded. If a team builds a dome or new stadium in a warm weather city.

That city gets a SB the year it opens and at least one more within 5 years.

It's possible, but extremely unlikely.

For those attending the game there is no doubt the warm weather places such as Miami, New Orleans and California is the better option. For many it is not just going to the game on Sunday but the entire week leading up to the SB and the activities people attend. Nothing fun about going to a city that is below freezing.
