I missed the parts where we (must have) played well. I started near the end of the 1st quarter and quit a few minutes into the 4th.

Having said that, I remain worried about stupid mistakes.

Pretty sloppy game, but that is to be expected in a pre season finale. Oh yeah, I am definitely ready to get this season going. I am confident in our starters, just please nobody get injured.

I'm ready too. This team could be anywhere from mediocre to great, depending on injuries and stupid mistakes.

The Cowboys didn't look too good, but I can't say I didn't feel good about the win. Even a preseason win is a good win. :laugh2:

For a game that was a battle of mostly scrubeenies, it was sorta entertaining.

I think Octavian and Watkins won roster spots, as well as the new C/G Preston.

I think Manny Johnson and Carpenter sewed up PS spots.

I think Mickens gives them something to think about, he looked better tonight than previous games.

I think McQuistan might be in trouble, along with Proctor. Free struggled on a few plays and did give up the sack/fumble, but I think he had done enough good in TC and preseason previously to make it.

Chandler will definitely be somebody's 3rd TE if we let him go.

Stanback and Courtney Brown are easy decisions.

I fully expected a sloppy game from the younger players but why does it seem that Kitna turns the ball over too much for my liking? Anyone?

He's fine. Doubt Adams lets his guy beat him like Free did earlier for the gimme turnover. Gotta fix the snap problems, whatever it is.

No question he is a massive upgrade over Brad Johnson. He was a very good roster move.

Is there no postgame PC, or is DallasCowboys.com just slow posting anything about it?

Kitna's always been a turnover machine

but he's good enough to win games, so I'm not too worried

Proctor, Stanback and C. Brown should pack their bags because the train is pulling out....

No doubt... Just look back at the first half thread. Mass panic.

Allow me to make a prediction:

When the Cowboys were losing, certain posters were lamenting our lack of depth. Now that the Cowboys have won the game, I suspect the same posters will be reminding us how only "scrubs", who won't make the team, were playing.

I just hoped for Stanback's sake that he would have a good game bc he most likely would be cut regardless as Ogletree was clearly better. It would have been nice to show SOMETHING in the return game so he could have a shot at someone else's roster. I can't imagine anybody will have any interest in him.

I feel bad for the guy. He was always hurt in the vital transition period and then just became a training room injury waiting to happen. I wish him well.

To quote Michael...

"Stanback, you may play for someone but the Cowboys can't use you"

keep in mind that this is labor day weekend. Lots of folks are already at their vacation destination or in route. Not to mention that it's Friday night, not exactly a night to stay home and watch a meaninless pre-season game, much less talk about it in the internet.

In other words, some of our brethrens have lives unlike us
