CeeDee Lamb has the same number of touchdowns as these Cowboys players

I hate when TDs are pulled out in stats arguments, for any players.

For one, TDs are a small sample size stat. There's a lot of variance.

In addition, they're sort of a team stat. A good offense will create more opportunities for all of its skill players to score TDs. The KC Chiefs WR will have more chances to score TDs than the Saints WR will, no matter who you plug in there.

Yards per route run is a lot better metric. WRs run a lot of patterns, so there's a big sample, and their yardage has a pretty direct correlation with their individual success (if they are beating their man, chances are they will get the ball, and if they aren't, they won't).

YPRR isn't perfect. Football is like Confounding Variables, The Sport because everything interlocks super heavily. But it's better than just box score TDs.

CeeDee is 4th in the league in YPRR, behind JSN, Puka Nacua, and Stefon Diggs. He's just ahead of Amon-Ra St. Brown and Ja'Marr Chase. So Lamb is doing just fine.

Right? Tolbert had 7 TDs last year. Does that make him a B+ receiver?

DaRon Bland CB6601006
KaVontae Turpin WR62010106
Dak Prescott QB8810106
Hunter Luepke RB81010106
Miles Sanders RB40100106
CeeDee Lamb WR55010106
Markquese Bell SAF8200002

Daron Bland, K Turpin, Dak, Luepke, and Sanders. How is he elite? I say keep Pickens and trade CeeDee. He is also a bit of a prima donna.
If you want to trade the guy just say so don't use this stat as a criteria.

First off he missed games because the idiot coaching staff is trying to use him as a running back when we have one of the leading running backs in the league.

Second if you want a reason to trade him it's because he comes up small in big moments and drops the freaking ball.

The eagles game is the perfect example we should have won that game had every opportunity if he would have caught the ball even with our sucky defense.

Elite players making the most money on the team are the ones that should step up in big moments and get the team over the top.
It's not him
I also like Pickens and what he brings to the game the guy can make some catches when you need it.

Lamb is legit.
No doubt, however, in a team that's so imbalanced between Offense and Defense (yes, yes Jerry) i'd argue that we need to shift and re-tool.

CeeDee's outstanding, but with the imbalance can we afford a WR1 and WR1A and when we're pass rushing Kneeland, Fowler, Clowney and our best LB is Overshown (even before he's stepped on the field), the we need to overhaul and that unfortunately means trading something of value.

Lamb is somewhat of a luxury we cant afford, especially if (as Broaddus mentioned we could get two 1st). It's painful but re-signing Pickens and spending two 1st Rd draft picks on defensive upgrades (trade or draft) should be a serious consideration imo.

I knew it! The trade CeeDee talk has started. It's like he never played for Dallas before last Sunday. We have competing trade conversations with some wanted to trade Pickens and now some want to trade CeeDee. Trade Micah. Trade Diggs. Trade Pickens. Trade Lamb. Whose next? I suspect it will be Tyler Smith since he is seriously underperforming.

And when you add the trades to the cuts, Mazi, Sam Williams, Fowler, Kneeland, Wilson, Hooker, Steele, Schoonmaker, Murray, Sanborn... did I miss anyone?

I suspect if Dallas traded away all the players they can and wound up with 32 first round draft picks, some fans would still be talking about trading someone away. Or maybe trading picks for players? It's like we are playing fantasy football, kind of like Jerry? Would you be a GM like Jerry? Think about it and be honest.

I get it. We're losing and fans are frustrated. That's because you expectations were too high to begin with. If you though Kaiir Elam was a great addition for Dallas then it really is you. If you thought giving Osa Odighizuwa $20 million was a smart move then you are Jerry. Admit it!

The problem I have with all this trade and cut talk is no one every proposes who they would replace the gone players with. Trade Micah! We did, and look what we have at Edge. Halfway through the season we have 15 sacks on our way to 29 for the year.

Trade Diggs - while he is on IR and possibly facing another surgery on his previously repair knee. Yeah, I am sure 31 teams are calling Dallas to check on Diggs' availability right now. They are throwing day one and 2 draft picks at them.

Is this the same group of people that started the preseason with tank for Arch talk? Trade Micah for 3 first round picks and draft Arch Manning? Is that you?

Forgive my rant. I am frustrated by the losing too, only I expected it when they traded Micah - oh, and can we just admit trading Micah hurt the defense? Can we admit it was a bad idea 1 week before the season began? Trading away everyone who is any good just because they are the only guys with value is not going to win football games any time in the near future. But I also believe in trading anyone if you get more value in return. I have yet to see the Cowboys do that though.

Lol,
This could very well be be the lowest IQ fan base in the entire league!

What are you talking about7

DeRon Bland does not 6 6 TDs this season.

CeeDee has 39 career TDs

This is a dumb thread.

Here’s one for the OP

Dak Prescott has had more tackles this season than Demarvion Overshown!

In fact, Overshown is only tied in tackles with Bryan Anger and Brandon Aubrey!
I beg to differ. This thread is very relevant because the Cowboys will have to make a decision soon, keep Pickens or Lamb. I do not think we have the cap space to pay both. I wished we did. I am in no way saying that Lamb is not a top-notch receiver, he definitely is one of the best. My personal opinion is that we should keep Pickens and trade Lamb. You may disagree, as is your prerogative. I believe Pickens has more upside than Lamb and has not had the injuries that Lamb has endured. I think we get great value if we trade either. When I watch Pickens go after a 50/50 throw, he seems to win those situations overwhelmingly and he does it with great confidence and athleticism. He is a better downfield threat than Lamb although Lamb is a bigger body and works better inside the hash marks. Both are great, sadly we cannot keep them both.
Would love to hear your perspective.

Making a decision based on the number of touchdowns, particularly when one player missed half of the games, is a poor method of comparison.

You’re getting a pointing head scratching response because your “data” is flawed.
