I don't know if Gurode will win, although all signs are pointing that way. My question, even though Jax doesn't run a 3-4, does anyone think Johnson can handle Marcus Stroud or John Henderson 1 on 1. Anohter team with two HUGE tackles are the Panthers. If Chris Jenkings is healty, he and Maketo (sp) make a formidable tandem. In a vacuum, I think Gurode is our opening day center. No way can Johnson handle either of the two big boys from Jax.

There is no battle. Gurode is the starter as of right now. And if he can keep up like he has been, we are in luck, because for the first time, we are starting to see the talent we originally drafted.

Do those guys line up on the nose? Usually the center has to help out or go after a LB facing 4-3 teams.

The generally do not, but I ask the question, if they think they have a match-up advantage, they will move one of those guys, head up. But more importantly, on zone dogs and line stunts they can easily get one on one with the center.

I've posted this a few times.

But Kosier commented after the NO game that the run blocking sucked because the Saints were moving around -- and that had the OL confused.

Isn't it Gurode's job to make the line calls? Wouldn't he call out assignments to reduce that confusion?

Ya think Payton knows his weakness?

Ya think the rest of the league might catch on?
