CFP thread

In Hail Mary situations you get a lot of jostling but that was clear PI. The DB held, grabbed and pushed the Ole Miss Wr for 10 yards.
Would've given Ole Miss a play at the 20.

Oh well

It is going to be a home game for Miami. They could not have asked for a better opportunity to win the CFP National Championship.

im sure ole miss would love to have that sequence back when they settled for 3 after miami had all those personal fouls.
they score a td there...the game might've ended differently.

Classic game. I didn't like the result but it was very entertaining. I hope tonights game is this good.

Why is nobody talking about Carson Beck at the top of next year draft? He looked like Tom Brady last night getting rid of the ball quickly at times and showing patience going through his reads. I've seen him play 3 games toward the end here and I don't see a hair's difference between him and Mendoza. He was the difference last night.

Heck of a game. And again, this just goes to show why we should have had a 10+ team playoff for DECADES.

10 vs either 1 or 4.
So many thought you could just look at a team and award a title. Insane.
Hate they robbed us of this level of football for so long man.

I can live with losing when the other team earns the win so I tip my hat to Miami.

To me the big difference in the game was OM didn't get people on the ground especially in the first half. So many opportunities. Not enough physicality & hustle. Make half those plays & they probably win by 10.

Ole Miss D just wasn't good enough.
That PI was a bad no call but Ole Miss gave up cheeks on the last 2-3 Miami drives to pretty pedestrian play calling.

I'll be pulling for the U but expect the Big 10 to claim another natty.
Just more complete teams.

I give him credit for playing well enough (I really thought he would make a mistake after OM took the lead) but he's got a track record that doesn't suggest he can elevate those around him. It's a pretty weak QB class. We might see them get pushed down the board this year.

I put zero credence in all the "Voted" champs and not much more in some of the early BCS. You are exactly correct, this SHOULD demonstrate to everyone why rankings mean very little.

Because he's not very good.
A solid experienced college QB for sure but he is the main reason Miami lost 2 games this year and had a stretch of like 5 INT in 4 games last year when Georgia was struggling.
He's at best a 5th/6th round type NFL draft QB which means the kind who likely can't play in the NFL.

6 ints (vs just 2 TDs) in their 2 close loses. Just awful in those games

He absolutely came through on that final drive last night.
Somewhat heroic answer to that beautiful preceding drive by Ole Miss for the lead.

But earlier he missed badly on at least 2 wide-open TDs when Miami got behind the OM secondary. He thru behind WRs several times as well.
JAG, but experienced JAG

Teams with few exceptions are up and down
Miami had a stretch where they were not even top 25 worthy

This is why boosters are funding NIL for the most part.
Amazing return on investment if you can take a non-descript team like Texas Tech or Indiana and start winning.
Entire University is lifted.
Applications (and quality of applicants) have gone up at TT.
Not that it wasnt pretty popular already in Texas. But now oos as well.
