CFP thread

If you were to look at the stats of this game only the turnovers would in any way really hint at a blowout

1st and goal and Ducks run it right into the middle of that brick wall line? :muttley:

Yeah, I won't be wagering money on them. Ole Miss beat them up pretty good. But, they have a savvy veteran Qb and a tenacious defense. Oregon and Alabama had neither.
Oregon’s D was pretty nice vs Tech who had put up points all year but their O left them in holes with turnovers. But Indiana still way superior

I really enjoyed Indiana's Defense! More than even their offense!!

The Natty Game on the 19th is a mere formality. The Hoosiers are your New NCAA National Champions !!

Indiana could reload next year. They got Hoover who i really like and wished he didnt leave TCU but they might win another Heismann for Indiana if he cuts down on bad throws.

Way too early to talk about Heisman with anyone

In addition, Oregon just didn't travel and do not have an alumni presence beyond the west coast. So, what they walked into was the largest home game in Indiana football history. MBS was 90% red and loud.

I knew TT had a good defense with elite NFL prospects, but I don't think they play much defense in the Big 12 overall.

Heck of a game by Indiana.
Insane roster building by Cignetti. Zero care for HS recruiting grades and full focus on actual game tape.

That defense only works so well because they had guys in the program 4 years. Very exotic defense with more scheme looks than just about any NFL team.

Sort of like Landry's Flex that took years to learn

My goodness man you are the absolute king of 10-year-old takes.

4 Big 12 teams gave up less than 20 PPG.

5 SEC
2 ACC
6 Big 10

yup. lots of reads and match ups. they do a ton of post snap movement.
i had no desire to face that defense even before what they did to oregon and bama.
you make a line call and they are doing something opposite. OL end up blocking air.

It was the biggest game in Indiana football history.
Of course they swarmed it.
Texas Tech would have done the same thing.
Oregon has fans all over and many in Texas. But this wasn't a super-sized draw for them and was a rematch they had seen at home.

I just hope that the Indiana-Miami game is a great game.

The Oklahoma-Alabama, Miami-OSU, Ole Miss-Georgia and Ole Miss-Miami games were good to great, but there have been too many disappointing games (unless you were a diehard fan of the winning team of course) for a 12-team playoff.

The other games were 41-10, 51-34 (not really that close), 23-0, 38-3 and 56-22 which were mostly pointless to watch, much less play.

It should be the 12 best teams in the country with no reserved spots and no "but .. but .. it's <insert_recently_top_team_here>" excuses.
