No offense, but I've noticed Cowboys fans changing tunes completely about TO for the most part over the past few weeks. The vast majority didn't want TO a few weeks ago, but now it seems like most are willing to take the risk. I wonder why?

I don't think that many have switched sides. I just think more new posters are posting their opinions on it because FA has started. The amount of posters on here any fiven day has doubled.

It's "Gambling Fever". You swear you are not going to place a bet, but when bets start flying all around, you reach for your wallet.

Go back to the Deadskins layer:skins:

If anybody can put TO in his place, its Parcells. I think our defense can contain TO just fine, but then that will be like picking our poison as there is still Crayton, Keyshawn (if hes not released), and Glenn to deal with along with Witten.

I don't think anyone has changed their tune. More of an acceptance that it very well could happen whereas I for one thought that there was no way on earth BP and JJ would be so foolish.

I for one said a long time ago that I would not root for the Cowboys if he was on the team (I definately will not root for him). I will root for the boys but I can say that if they do sign him and it blows up in their face, there will be a small part of me that will be happy because it is such a stupid move and one that they should know better! Just hopefully it won't destroy the team like it has done in Philly!

Because... if we do sign him, we deserve whatever he brings with him. Not the fans who did not want him, but Jerry and BP and the fans who do!!!

I thought the why would be obvious.

That many people lacked an understanding of what he would mean to the team, objected to him on immature grounds, and are doing a 180 now that they realize what his signing would mean to this team.

Of course, even that sentiment is misguided, because a lot of people are jumping on his bandwagon just cause they think the Skins are "lapping" us or some such nonsense.

Owens would be a great addition to a team that's trying to reach the Super Bowl. Which we are.

Bring him in.

Like aikemirv said, it's acceptance, not celebration. Alot of us are starting to see it as inevitable, but it's not like we're happy about it or anything.

Those with any sense are still opposed to TO being a Cowboy, indeed we're bitterly opposed to it... but some Cowboys fans are pressing the panic button because the Skins are runnin' around signin' everybody, and all they want is to see the Boys make a big splash...

IOW, for the most part, they're a bunch of morons... :D

It sounds to me like you've changed your tune.

I said I wouldn't root for the Cowboys.... but now I will.... because I realized that making such a statement was immature posturing.

Yeah, we get it. You aren't fooling anyone.

If Dallas were to sign TO I would treat is just as I did when Duane Thomas was here. I cheered for the Cowboys and said to hell with Thomas and was glad when Dallas cut the punk.

It's just that people here are tired of our team losing and they realize that a player of T.O's caliber can improve your team a lot and considering we were 1 game away from making the playoffs with him we almost for sure be a playoff team. Sure we all know that their are risks but sometimes you have to take big risks to receive big rewards

I haven't changed my tune on him, but Dallas is at a pretty rough point with Key possibly being gone, the other teams taking great measures to improve themselves and Dallas needing to improve the offense.

So if they do take him, there's not much as a fan I can do except hope for the best.

Exactly.

TO is a difference maker.

You people objecting to him on grounds that he somehow dishonored our legacy, and that signing him would further dishonor us, are full of crap. I dismiss any such argument as idiotic and pointless.

If you are worried about him tearing our team apart, that's a legit concern, but one that I believe is overblown. Owens was able to tear that team apart because half the team didn't support McNabb even. They know he's soft and a whiner and that TO isn't soft.

The team split in two.

That won't happen here because Bledsoe isn't a fairy.

I would not say immature posturing, just an acceptance of the fact, that as a lifelong Cowboy fan, I don't think I could go through a season not rooting for them with my heart.

The acceptance is your first step to recovery.

The fact that you once made the statement that TO was a disgrace to the Cowboys and you wouldn't root for the team was the immature posturing.

You are not alone though, so don't fret.

I'd rather people backtrack and admit it than keep acting ignorant about it.

Sorry, you are the one with the problem bud. You are the one that believes that the end justifies the means. I am not. I don't like that kind of philosophy and it is a very bad philosophy.

You are the immature one with that pphilosophy whether you choose to admit it. Don't bash me because I have a few principles and would like to see an organization stand up against this type of player in a TEAM sport.

Then don't lie to our faces like we're idiots about how you aren't going to support the team if we sign TO and then come crawling back once you've abandoned those principles you claim to have. You hypocrit.

If TO is so offensive to you, then if we sign him, get lost. Beat it. We don't want crappy fans like you anyway.

If you pull for the Cowboys anyway, then you have been exposed as a liar because the winning will clearly be more important to you. You'll wish we could win another way, sure, who doesn't? But don't act all high and mighty, you'll be pulling for him and the Cowboys just the same as all Cowboys fans.

We already know this is what you plan on doing. You even admitted that before you were whining like a baby about not supporting the team --- oh, but now you will.

Wonder what changed? It was you, realizing that your little blurb about not supporting the team if we sign TO was idiotic.

Now you are backtracking. Just like everybody who said that TO is a disgrace will backtrack. Because its an idiotic argument based on some romantic idea of principle that everyone will abandon when it comes down to it. Just like you have already admitted you'll do.

mschmidt, is there a reason you're being such a jerk about this? Some people didn't want TO. Big deal. We all love the Cowboys, and if he comes here, despite any outrageous claims, we'll still love the Cowboys. No need to rub people's nose in the situation. It makes it even more repugnant.
