Obviously she got paid off - uh, I mean reached an out of court settlement - where she agreed not to cooperate with the authorities. His accuser didn't show up evidently.

And therein lies the problem with so many domestic violence cases. All too often, the victim is un-cooperative (usually because they are still dating/married to the attacker whereas in this case it looks like money changed hands).

And the NFL said that his status remains unchanged and they are going to review the matter. once again the NFL is acting dumb, no charges means he should not even be on the exempt list. What justification can you hold him to it? Yeah there was a settlement, but that is not an admission of wrong doing. Just NFL sanctioned extortion.
It's kind of crazy that their own code of conduct extends farther than the legal system. I imagine this means that they're actually going to spend time investigating what went down in cases like this. It seems like a waste of resources to me, once the case is dismissed.
I guess, though, a subsequent DV charge by the same player would look bad for the league. The courts can taek the bad PR because nobody likes the courts, anyway. But this sort of thing has to really set back the league's efforts to grow female viewership.
Of course they have their own code of conduct.
They suspend players for weed and alcohol.
Hardy was found guilty and is getting off.
Anyone who says they wouldn't sign a convicted woman beater shouldn't be on board with Hardy.
Anyone who says they would sign Hardy should just fess up and say they don't give a piss about domestic violence.
I don't care either way. Just be honest about it. Not directing this at you, I don't know where you even stand. Just saying.
Well, her charges are certainly not as dubious as the Colts' charges against New England from last month. Is it a problem if the charge was dubious to begin with?

He was found guilty, which was later reversed on appeal. So while the legal system considers him not-guilty, the NFL is not beholden to the same standard.I missed the part where he was found guilty.
We know that they reached an out of court settlement (i.e. "payoff") in order to get her not to cooperate with authorities. I am sure part of that settlement is that she won't be cooperating with the NFL either. The league will have to base their decisions on what is already known.Without a court disposition and proof that their was a "payoff" in relations to this charge the NFL will have hard time with the NFLPA.
I missed the part where he was found guilty. He may be guilty that is another matter. Without a court disposition and proof that their was a "payoff" in relations to this charge the NFL will have hard time with the NFLPA. The conundrum the NFL has is their latest campaign is against DV and this case was one of their frontline cases to show how serious they are, my issue with DV and Rape is, the accused guilty until proven innocent in most cases and the accuser is innocent until proven guilty

Basically just bought himself time to make up and smooth things over. Convienently she has now flaked on the deal.
