I haven't even seen him blow by people with speed rush. That's why I am concerned. Usually that's the one move that doesn't need to be taught.
He blew by the OT in the Colts games and would have had a clean shot on the QB but the DT on that side got blocked by the Center and the Guard was free to fall back and cut him off before he got to the QB.
Marinelli does not allow the DEs to just run far up-field and take themselves out of the play 50 times per game in order to get 2 sacks. The DEs for Marinelli generally stop their outside rush once they get to QB depth and then they normally cut back inside. He does this because it allows the DTs to do more stunts and twists without losing contain and the DEs often get some pressure when they cut back inside, but just not sacks.
The concept is more or less would you take 0 sacks and 10 pressures or 2 sacks and 0 pressures?
