Me too, man. That guy has all the makings to be a superstar in this league. If he sticks to it and allows the coaches to do their job, that's a 15-20 sack a year type of player, IMO. Potential all pro.

Before people get their panties in a bunch keep in mind I said "potential" and "IMO "
Yup!! He needs to keep putting the work in, Mac!

Everyone's enamored with his 40 time, but I don't see that speed off the edge.

Apparently, conditioning is what led to his injury flaring up last year. Saw this interesting excerpt:

"Tapper ran a blazing 4.59 40-yard dash at the Combine, and that was a 270 pounds -- which is now reportedly 15-20 pounds heavier than he is currently."

Those discounting Tapper's ability to ever play in the NFL are going to be in for a surprise.

Fully recovered, he is going to be a very good player for the Cowboys.

I hope you're right but I just get names like Gregory, Green, Johnson, stuck in my head when I start thinking about guys we get excited about around here before they ever prove anything.

Yeah but in college he wasn't on the edge much really. Hard to know anything about him til he gets on the field in the NFL, all we can try to do is upgrade the general talent there.

We got alot of hopes, not enough guys we can count on. But I will say though, at the moment, we have alot more hope on the DL than we do at DB, especially CB.

And Irving's development, assuming he is training and wants to "become elite" (as he has said) during this offseason. Beast Irving, G!

The beast is there, he just needs to put in the work. I really love Irving. He's a freak.

He won't be like the false prophet crawford. Irving has shown DOMINANT potential.. Tapper is a guy who has freak talent too. In training camp last year he was our best defense end before getting Injured

do we have any information on this? As I recall from last year there was alot of uncertainty if area of back would ever heal 100% and it was more of matter if he could play with it? Has that narrative changed?

You are saying he is not healthy? He won't play this year?

I'm saying he was out all of last year

He needs to prove he can step on the field and play a full NFL season before we can even start thinking about how elite he might be

Saying he will be a "war daddy " or elite NFL player is just as far fetched as saying he will never play

David Irving, Maliek Collins, Charles Tapper. Marinelli has some very nice Rushmen to build his defense on.

I very much Like Collins. Should be a good player for a while. Irvin? I am intrigued for sure, but he has really only had 2 or 3 good games. Didnt even show up in the playoff loss when we needed him the most. Tapper? The guys has a back issue. Is it solved? Who knows. All we really know is that he is essentially a rookie that hasnt played football in a year. To expect this guy to come in and be a big difference maker would be a huge stretch. Even Jones agrees that pass rush is our biggest need.

We hear every year how all these guys are going to bust on the scene and it never happens. I will believe it when I see it.
