He was 12/17.... 186 yards..... 3 TD.... 2 INT........QBR 99.9............Old Rating 106.5

This can't be correct

The next 2 games seem correct both had a QBR of 99.9

passer rating and total QBR are COMPLETELY different. So no, he wasnt.

in fact looking it up, weeden has a 58.7 QBR on the season.

Total QBR takes into account pressure from the defense and passer rating doesnt.

Batch may have produced that stat line during one of the worst defensive flurries ever known to man kind...which is why it would end up 99.9

In fact his numbers are so pedestrian the only explanation could be user error and someone moved a decimal point. I was wondering if anyone had any more info.

im not disagreeing that it seems off...but just saying, if brandon weeden threw 2 INT's but 2 TD's vs. say, seattle, his total QBR would probably be pretty high if he had say 10 pressures in the game

They all have holes, but that ESPN QBR can be really quirky. They must overweight something radically...maybe the defensive pressure thing mentioned earlier. That is extremely subjective.
In any case, your OP exposes it in a big way.

I always liked the Passer Rating. Anytime you add subjectivity to stats they lose all meaning. Your idea of clutch, pressure or a drop may be different than mine.

ESPN's QBR is a subjective stat. Not all passes are equal. Not only are "clutch" moments treated differently, but every pass is "judged" by someone on a variety of factors such as if the receiver should have caught it, amount of pressure, etc. The Charlie Batch "perfect game" highlights the idiocy of their formula which, for some reason, they refuse to share with anyone.

No rating system is free from flaws, but I'll take the old fashioned rating systems over ESPN's ridiculous QBR.
