Per Tyrone Crawford's SnapChat video. Seems as though the guard competition is between Cooper, Cleary and Green.

He's taken reps at guard before.

From 2015:

Has been practicing with the team now for two weeks in order to determine if he will be added to the 53-man roster for the final five games. Has been getting work on the scout team during practice, playing left and right tackle. Has also seen some work at guard.

Sure helps if both he and Collins can make the transition....also helps Collins big time cause he would probably much rather be paid like a tackle.

I'm not surprised at this. With Dallas seemingly now committed to giving Collins every rep it can to see if he can play right tackle, the question becomes who will be the left guard if Collins shows he can handle the RT spot.

If Green ends up being our fifth-best lineman, then it wouldn't be smart not to have him ready to be the starting left guard.

I was more surprised that we were giving Cleary some reps at left guard because I don't think he's a viable option to start. Maybe we just wanted to see how he would do or maybe we want to increase his versatility.

IMO, the three starting left guard options if Collins stays at right tackle would be Green, Cooper and Bell, not necessarily in that order.

OTAs are for experimentation.

Let's see what happens when the pads come on.

Enjoying the competition. I'm for getting our best lineman on the field but also feel Collins' best position is at LG. We shall see.

Yeah, people put to much stock in where people line up this time of year. They are building depth and versatility in case of injury right now. When training camp gets under way we'll know what their true intentions are.

Having the 3 bedrock anchors really makes life less stressful. Only 2 positions to sweat (and backups, I suppose) which is much more than many teams can say. Seems to motivate those guys too. Money to be made with 3 All Pros helping you look good.

The Cowboys have been trying Chaz Green everywhere else on the line, so they might as well give him a looksee at LG as well. Who knows, maybe that's the spot for him, when all is said and done. No harm in giving him a chance to find his niche to give his best performance.

The main concern I have with him and likely what the team has as well, is his durability or the lack thereof. I'm really hoping Chaz gets his body in tip-top shape in the days ahead if he hasn't quite done so already. That'd definitely be a good starting point, if you ask me.

You don't have to root for it

It would be much better for DAL if the huge, athletic OL worked out and played well

Not rooting, just stating fact. If and when Chaz Green gets on the field and starts for any reasonable length of time and performs well, I will be more than happy to acknowledge it. Until that day, he is exactly what I said he was.
