I like a good conspiracy theory like the next man. But, do you think Bill is putting up all this retirement smoke inorder to force Jerry to fire him? Then he can leave with the last year of his contract money and become a talking head in ESPN? This puts Jerry in a tough situation because, you don't replace a hall of fame coach with Just anybody. He would have to go out there and
get a big name coach to replace him. That would require more big money and
taking a chance that the next guy won't screw up the team.

It's genuine fun to think about Jimmah returning to Dallas. Gives us all the warm, fuzzy memories of the 90s and SB runs. But sadly, he's real comfy in that far right hand seat on the Fox set on Sundays, with JB, TB and Howie. We may be overlooking the fact that Jimmy just may not want to coach again, and he's been teasing lately.
Id love to be wrong about this.

I think if Jimmy would become our coach you would see a total destruction of our current team. Bledsoe, Keyshawn, Ferguson, Rivera, Allen, and Glenn would be gone. We would endure about two 5-11 seasons in order to draft Frachise skill players like QB, WR, and a T. However the team would be better of in the long run. Spears and Canty would be the DTs and Ware would be moved to DE. Jimmy prefered quicker more agressive 4-3s. Would you guys be willing to blow for 3 years in order to win continously for the next 7 years? I would. Jimmy woud take the job if Jones would give him GM duties just like Parcells currently enjoys.

No Jimmy uses a 3 year plan. That's what he did with the 90s Cowboys. Aikman, Smith , and Irvin were taken in different years. We already have Julius and young playmakers on D so that might cut the rebuilding project from 3 years to 2 years. He would bring in a top reciever in the first. He would play Henson and intentionally suck. He would then take a top flight QB in the next draft. Johson liked to go young. He would have gotten crucified in Maimi if he cut Marino, which towards the end he should have.

So besides QB Parcells is doing the same thing but he needs run out of town. Crayton is no slouch at WR. Parcells drafted JJ and a host of others that will be here and be very good. We as fans arent really sure about either Romo or Henson we just assume they arent being groomed.( although I would draft one) All while staying healthy in cap space.
A coaching carousel and changing QBs every year doesnt work. I would rather the coach we have now gets it done, hes more than half way there.

Who said we would be SB bound in three years under Parcells any way? I dont recall ever hearing him say it.

Johnson never paid 33 year old guards a 10 million dollar signing bonus. He never gave a known lazy DT a 8 million dollar signing bonus. Plus Johnson did not miss as badly as Parcells in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Al Johnson, Stephen Peterman, Jacob Rogers, Kevin Burnett. Johnson hit about 75% in the later first round picks, Parcells hits about 50%. Besides Johnson would have picked Leftwich over Newman in the same exact scenario.

It was said Parcells didnt want Dat dude that JJ did. I dont find it hard to believe givin JJs ability to sign FAs. The 10 million dollar guard was in the probowl the year before and played injured this season. Some of those players you listed above havnt been proven to be that bad just yet. Ide give some another season before calling them busts. Three year rule only applies to some?

We have no way of knowing who Jimmy would have drafted, he works for Fox.

Burnett and Rogers had health issues in college. Peterman was a fluke injury. You should not draft injury plagued players in the 2nd round. Your only asking for problems later on. If a player doesn't stay healthy, the 3 year rule no longer applies. A player can not get acclimated to the NFL from the shelf. Bradie James was never hurt. That is why the light went on in the 3rd year. He was able to learn from being on the job. The light will not go on for Rogers. It may not go on for Peterman or Burnett either.
