Look, the Cowboys are going through a rough patch here.

The O-line is not playing horribly, they are merely protecting a statue quarterback who can only throw short routes accurately. It looks different because Tony Romo's agility in the pocket made them look much better. Beyond the short routes, Brad Johnson throws intermediate and long throws to the tune of interception, or at best, horribly off target. Matt Moore should be there instead. Under the rule of "those who can't, teach", Brad Johnson should consider coaching.

The receivers are at a loss, because there is NO quarterback. Therefore, the running game is getting exceptional attention from the defense.

As for our defense, they are on the field way too much because the offense cannot sustain drives as a one dimensional running attack. Not to mention, 2 of the best corners are out for the next few games at best. Additionally, Dallas lost Roy Williams as a hitter.

Romo will return within a month, and the Cowboys will be a force once again. Even if they only make it to the playoffs as a wild card, they will do great things in the playoffs. These next 3 games will be incredibly tough due to all the attrition of talent, and a washed up QB at the helm. But things will come around, and if we even squeak out one win, we'll be in great shape to make it in as a last minute contender.

I hate to rain on your parade, but these problems existed before Brad took over at QB. Romo was knocked down 20 times in the Arizona game. That's why his finger is fractured. I agree that the defense never gets a chance to catch its breath and that has affected them. That being said, it is playmaking time. Somebody has to step up and get it done. In fact everybody has to. I won't be surprised whether we win or lose this game, but I will be a lot more relieved if we win it.

This team is playing exactly the same as it did down the stretch last year, nothing has changed.....

OK, all that explains last week. What about all the other weeks that had the same issues (some wins, some losses, but still issues)

The points that have been brought up are issues but not the root of the problems.

This team, which is being exposed since the Commanders game, is not physical and has a bit of "quit" in them once they get hit in the mouth, a big play happens, or something goes against them.

Our offensive line is not physical enough and with the guys we have there is NO excuse for it.

As I have stated in other threads, we need to be more physical in practice so we are used to being hit or being in proper football position to make a bone jarring tackle that could possibly cause a turnover.

We are a soft team that has been babied by the coaches, and as you can see it is not working, period.

When the games get physical - which the Cowboys are not used to - we start missing assignments, lose concentration and make stupid offsides penalties, etc.....

In my opinion, our problems stem from the cupcake approach that the coaching staff has taken - not because BJ is at QB. As stated above - these problems started long befire Brad was playing. We are in trouble until we get this resolved and with Wade in charge, I just don't see it happening.

I love the enthusiasm, but...

The offensive line has been going downhill since the Packers game.

Roy Williams was a weak link in the offense when he was on the field. He did nada in the first few games.

The defense is on the field too much? Yeah, because they can't get off the field because they suck. The Cowboys offense begins the Rams game by going on a nice drive and putting up seven points. The defense was supposed to come out and stuff the Rams at their house so we could keep the momentum and then use the lead to our advantage and get the running game going on the next drive. Hello Donnie Avery on that poor excuse for a CB Anthony Henry who is now a Free Safety in waiting.

Romo can come back this Sunday. If he comes back and the rest of the team still plays like crap they will still lose. And if Romo can't go then it should be Brooks Bollinger starting over the noodle armed senior citizen.

I'm sorry but just what in the HELL are you doing here?

You do realize Terrell Owens is still a Cowboy, right?

Turnovers,turnovers,turnovers

I see this team as one that lacks the ability to force turnovers, rather than from the perspective that we're turnover proned. We live and die with Romo. He basically averages 2-3 TDs 1 turnover per game. If we had a defense with some playmakers that could easily be compensated for with our solid run game and ability to control the clock when clicking.

The problem that goes beyond penalties and special teams is that our defense has never been notorious for forcing turnovers, consistently rushing the passer, and not giving up the big play.

That side of the ball hasn't 'won' any games for us since 2003.
