Grew up when they were at their peak, I still think A Thousand Suns is an underappreciated alternative rock album. I'm glad Chester was able to be a part of that.

You never know what is going on in someone's head - depression is brutal.

They were more than a 1-hit wonder, but they weren't like the greats that **** them out.

Seen it alot in personal life. Lost alot of friends to depression cause by TBI. In Chesters instance, its hard for people to process why a person with what he has would do that. But its not so hard to fathom given the circumstances.

Heard a lot of interviews in the past with him, he was quite outspoken about his childhood abuse. Stuff like that can really screw with the brain.

For those that just weren't fans and don't understand how big a deal this is... How many artist have a diamond record? Only the really good ones... just saying. This one hurts.

This is horrible news. I simply can't believe it. Another huge loss. As a big LP fan I'm literally stunned. Had planned on taking BDC Jr to see them. Damn!!!

RIP Chester. 41 is way to young.

Speechless. I agree, this one hurts. Still not over Chris Cornell's death, and here we "blanking" go again! Enough is enough. My two sons are so heartbroken right now, they grew up with LP. Back to back major losses in the world of music. RIP Chester. :(

Huge fan here! Listened to everything LP has recorded and one of my favorite rock albums is Chester's side project Dead by Sunrise. Huge loss to the music world. I was incredibly sad to hear the news. With how many lives he touched and possible saved with this music it's too bad nobody was there for him in his greatest time of need. I hope his sould finds the rest it's looking for.

Terrible news. Linkin Park were a huge part of my life when I was younger and they helped shape my music taste.

He and Chris Cornell we're very close and they had Chester sing at his funeral. I've read he was also the godfather to one of Chris' children. It's sad to think that it also would've been Chris Cornell's 53rd birthday today.
