Chick-fil-A stand in Mercedes-Benz Stadium to be closed on Sundays

Atlanta Falcons fans won't get their Chick-fil-A fix at the team's new Mercedes-Benz Stadium for most of the team's games, as the restaurant's stand will be closed on Sunday.

The franchise famous for its chicken sandwich is closed on Sundays, and only one of the team's eight home games isn't on a Sunday -- a Thursday night matchup against the New Orleans Saints on Dec. 7.

No surprise. It's Mormon owned they're closed here.

The founder, S. Truett Cathy was a very devout Southern Baptist. "To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A," comes directly from their statement of corporate principles, and that is the reason they are closed Sundays, Christmas, and Thanksgiving.

I can't imagine the amount they pay in rent will be worth it, if we're talking about they will be open for 1 regular season game and concerts and stuff...

Why do people assume its only open for football games. Blank also owns Atlanta United and they will host high school championship games there, concerts etc.

Strange business practice. Why put a franchise someplace like a football stadium and then close it on Sunday??

Definitely an odd place to put a Chick-fil-a.
Yes, it is used for other venues on other days, but it is a football stadium first. 75k-83k people will be there on Sundays and a very popular fast food place at the arena will be closed.

Its a soccer stadium as well and it pulls in equally large crowds through the season. Atlanta united sells out georgia tech stadium every game. They are averaging 40k a game.

That is going to stay in the family - pretty much a given. You can hope all you want but you WILL be disappointed.

Any location where there is a Chick-Fil-A needs to have a Raising Cane's next to it too. Just compete with each other so that Chick-Fil-A won't always be packed every time.
