He's the prototype Patriots pick up. They'll use him correctly at the right times and he'll flourish. If like to see us do similar things with the right people

if Houston attracts double teams, DLAW gets doubled...do the math guys!! that leaves our interior DT's lots of space to do their job. ..and that's without even having to draft a DT...now I can see the logic in this.

Don't think he'll fit playing end in the 4-3. With the Chiefs likely switching to a 4-3 and openness to trading Ford, you have to believe they have their own concerns about those two players.

Aside from that Houston is likely to command a pretty large contract as this is probably his last chance to get a multi year large deal now that he just turned 30.

Marinelli can make it work

You're right. Won't hurt their comp pick equations and they could get a passrusher that has enough juice for a year or so.

Pay him good money on a one year deal- he helps us and leaves next year with a nice contract from someone else- boom comp pick

Another "name" player on the decline, whose best season was 5 years ago. He had 3 double digit sack years (2012, 13, and 14) and has averaged less than 9 since then.

He could still be an effective situational pass rusher but I suspect he would want more than you can pay for that role

I agree. If we can get a reasonable deal for him, I'd LOVE to have him on this roster. He's still a monster pass rusher and, considering we're without Gregory and Irving, I think he is a need for us.

For the right price yes! Other then a disgruntled Lawrence who do we have?

Exactly right.

He literally turned 30 two months ago.

Yeah, I'd be interested.

Our DL is right on the verge of being completely terrible if DLaw waits until June/July to get surgery. It also gives us options.

Agreed. For a DE as good as he is and considering our situation, it's not like we have much of a choice. We need Justin Houston.
