He's making moves like a gambler that's playing with house money, that's willing to walk away from the table with not a care in the world if his sitting ends up a complete bust.

Let's hope that's exactly what happens. :)

Oddly the average for McFadden's 1st three years is the same as his last 3 years in terms of games played.

I guess playing in 16 games for the first time in your career will do that. He has 16, 10 and 12 his last three years to Murray's 16, 14 and 10.

Games started during that span goes 12, 10, 12 for McFadden to Murray's 16, 14 and 10. Carries are heavily in Murray's favor: 770 to 485.

The previous year, McFadden and Murray had the same number of starts (7) while Murray had more carries: 164 to 113. (Murray played in more games, though, 13 to 7.)

So if you want to look at it from a good news, bad news standpoint: McFadden has missed more games because of injury the past four years, but he has less wear and tear during that time period. :)

I think McFadden was a mistaken attempt by Jerry to get something for cheap. Now that McFadden is already having injury issues, that mistake is being exposed early-on. It's likely just a matter of time before it gets exposed even more. A move for another RB is just around the corner, imho. We'll see in due time.

McFadden is a scratch ticket. Little investment that could pay off big but the odds are against it.

I would say being injured before contact even begins means there is only one box left to scratch.

See here's something I don't get about Chip, people say how smart he is but then he says the strangest things, like the other day about Sanchez possibly being the starter week one, now this. OK Murray is an injury concern, but then isn't also Bradford, Matthews, Alonso and Austin? Why wouldn't you be worried about them if they were all injured last year?

Maybe I'm wrong and he's a t'supah genius but I don’t see it and the media are giving him a pass the likes of I have never witnessed before.

I do like Kelly as a coach. You have to look at what he's done this offseason and just scratch your head, though. He's way out on a limb.

He's either gonna be a hero or a zero.

No grey area there, IMO.

Great another negative article about Murray that cowboys fans can use as an ointment for our own insecurities.

I guess these articles somehow make some people feel better about our own RB "situation".
I know if we took Murray from the Eagles and we read Eagles fans reacting the way we do we would all laugh at them.

I saw a national sportswriter, (can't remember which one), predict Kelly to be coaching College football next year............

We wouldn't all be laughing. Murray was a risky signing, demanding a fairly big deal at an older age for a RB after so many seasons. I wasn't laughing at the Eagles for dealing McCoy, for similar reasons. But, now that he's an Eagle, you better believe we're going to take pleasure of every hint of frustration or disappointment with that contract. I think that's pretty understandable, under the circumstances. It doesn't really have anything to do with our own RB position group (which is going to be just fine, btw).

That's what most fans do. The trick is to do it without being annoying. When one is supporting ones team, fact checking before trash talking would be boring. Kind of like stopping to take a blue pill before.... oh nevermind.

Matthews was a great pick up, plus they still got Sproles. The Eagles running game is not going to be an issue.

Kelly is on record saying he wants to manage his roster like a college roster, with a rotation of players and looking at incoming classes three years before you intend to rely on them and such. Who knows how it works out for him. If he doesn't put together a decent season or two here, he might not get to find out.

When did he make these quotes and what do they even mean?? "Incoming classes three years before you intend to rely on them."??

Well chip could be lying, about how he intends to use murray during regular season.

I think you play him a little in PS with rest of starters, but that is it.
However during regular season. I would use him as a workhorse and not worry about how many carries he gets per game.

If he gets tired put matthews in till murray is ready to go again.
you could play one on one drive and next drive is the other back.

I think murray is in good shape, but you dont want him burnt out at playoff time.

I think you could play him a lot early and then if you have a game or 2 in 2nd half where you face a weaker team, play matthews and sproles
and rest murray .

I dont think restricting murray to like 10-15 carries a game is a good idea.

Any player can get hurt each week, so you just have to use them so you get the most out of them to win games, and if they
get hurt you just next man up.

if used right murray can help them win games , and he wont help much with 10 carries a game.

Now the other thing is I would use murray as a pass catching back much more than what dallas used him.
With bradford I would not play him till he is ready , fully healed, then play him like you would any QB.
You cant baby players for fear of injury. holding them out of PS games is ok if they dont need the practice.
Like sean lee, you dont really need to play him much or at all in PS. he is a smart guy and knows his duties for his position.

I would say RB is not an issue for their Running game.

Their O line may be. But the fast break offense could help in spots to shield problems.

Murray is the one frustrated and trying to understand why the eagles are limiting him as much as they are. I agree if Kelly had concerns then he should not have paid out the contract they did but Murray seems to willing and ready to get to work.
