Riley Cooper made a mistake by using some racial slurs. That doesn't mean he is racist. If the truth was known, there are very few people that hasn't used racial slurs at some point in their life. It doesn't make them a racist for life.

It doesn't lol?

I agree. I'm sure everyone has used some salty language at some point in their lives or told a joke that might be considered to be offensive.

I know I sure wouldn't want everything I've ever said broadcast for all the nation to hear.

From what I remember he wasn't telling a "dirty joke". You don't just come out of nowhere and say racists things without having the thoughts in your head. Sure we've all said some offensive things. But that's because we're offensive people lol. Riley Cooper simply got CAUGHT. It wasn't a accident lol.

Well if players are shying away because he's too tough on people, his practices are too hard, and his conditioning is just too much...well boo freaking hoo...

Now don't get me wrong I'm loving that it is hurting the Eagles. That makes me happy as can be.

But if those are really some of the reasons then the players today are real sissy's.

Have you ever played professional football? No? Then you have no idea what you are talking about.

I thought we didn't like Camp Cupcake precisely because of being the opposite of what Chip Kelly is supposedly now... And we loved Garrett because he was a tough no-nonsense guy that was a disciplinarian and didn't let the inmates run wild...

Exactly.

You are spot on.

It's like Chip is trying to get fired, and the entire city of Philadelphia and its lowly franchise are left to helplessly watch him burn their beloved Eagles to the ground.

I love it.

Chip has a $50 million golden parachute awaiting him in college, where he truly wants to be. He dodged the NCAA investigators by bailing from Oregon to the NFL, and now he idly runs lab-rat experiments on the Eagles like a guy who really doesn't care what happens so long as he can get back to college.

The Cowboys were burned regularly by Desean Jackson and Lesean McCoy. He got rid of them. Thanks, Chip. He wildly overpaid Demarco Murray, who the Cowboys were dangerously close to overpaying themselves. Murray will quickly decline and be an ill-fitting part there. Thanks, Chip. He's brought in the likes of Mark Sanchez, Sam Bradford, and now Tim Tebow to lead the Eagles back. Thanks again, Chip.

It's as if he's the biggest Cowboys fan alive, and he's infiltrated their ranks to demolish them within.

It's glorious.

The thing is...Chip isn't saying anything. Because he does things a little differently people just assume he's some overbearing, obnoxious jerk.

To me, he's just trying to coach the team the way he has always coached teams and he feels is the best way to do it instead of following the norms of the league. Much like Parcells who said the biggest mistake he made his 1st year with the Giants was trying to be what he thought an NFL coach looked like instead of coaching the team his way.

I hate the Eagles as much as anybody and would love to see Chip Kelly go 1-15 next year. But, it's because he is the coach of the Eagles and I hate the Eagles, not because of his behavior and attitude. I wish more coaches would have his attitude and open mindedness. It may liberate performance of the league.

There's a saying that the 7 most expensive words in business are 'that's the way we've always done it.'

I take a guy like Pete Carroll who has coached defense his entire coaching career and he was open minded enough to allow an assistant to research rugby style tackling techniques and allow that assistant to incorporate them into Seahawks practice. The end result was the Seahawks are by far the best tackling team in the league and dramatically lower their odds of tackling related injuries. Yet, we still have the rest of the league using old tackling techniques that can cause concussions, stingers, spinal injuries and break collarbones. But...that's they way the league has always taught tackling.

YR

A lot of what he is doing is the same as what Jimmie did.

Get "his" type of players, practice hard, operate like a dictator, etc..

I think they might take a step back this season but eventually they could be dangerous when he gets the players he wants AND get the right QB.

Didn't Riley Cooper challenge some black guy(s) to a fight by calling them the N word? What exactly was his situation again?

To an extent but Jimmy did not try to bring the Hurricane offense to Dallas. I think Chip is trying to make the eagles into the Ducks offensive system with its hurry up components

Yes but defense be in college or pro there is only so many systems out there. The offense Kelly is using I have no issue with it, however his views on the hurry up being ran through out the game and all season long I think will bite them in the end. College many teams do it but Pro season is a longer season and a different animal. Using hurry up as a change of pace is one thing doing it through out the game much different and I think detrimental to any defense.

Yes, his offensive scheme is a risk, but in general I think he will put together a good team if given enough time. He can always back off on the extreme hurry up if he gets a good pro QB.

As I said earlier, I expect them to take a step back this season with all of the change; although, they'll still likely be better than the Skins.

I agree about this season as for long term? I think some unpopular moves he has made better pay off or Philly fans will be calling for his head

Yes, that is the issue. He would have been better off if he could have made the radical moves when he first arrived.

Turns out Gore and Andre Johnson jointly decided not to go to Philly, but rather Indy. Apparently, Gore heard about Chip Kelly's overbearing personality and did not want to deal. This is what other Philly players have alluded to (very tough practices, conditioning, etc.). He may be a "genius," but the disciplinarian, tyrannical college schtick does not work with pros who, in many cases, earn more than the coach. Sorry Chip.

lolz he'll reep what hes sowing with Bradford, Sanchez and Tebow...lol
