Is money really the issue with Hardy and whether to bring him back or not?

Harry's issue is hardy.

Someone said that yesterday and it sumed it up perfectly.

He had his 1 year prove it deal, he didn't prove it so he didn't get another contract. It's as simple as 1...2...3...

He's coming off a hell of a season. 9 tackles and 3 sacks. Front office trying to restore the feeling

But if he signs with Dallas, he's a "key player", who is capable of recording double-digit sacks. At least that is the BS the FO will try to feed us.

Wake me up when we sign a decent player. Over-the-hill players with high profile names doesn't do anything for me.

Why is it BS?

One thing that has always stuck out to me was that when Hardy first got here, the Cowboys went out of their way to defend him. He wasn't at a workout and missed a meeting and the Cowboys quicly released a statement saying it was excused. He starts missing meetings later and suddenly the Cowboys clam up? No refutation denying he was missing meetings, no reason why he did miss a meeting?

I firmly believe the team is divided on Hardy. It will be interesting to see who wins the power struggle over him. You very well could be right that if the price is low enough, they'll take another chance on him.

Because RKG doesn't exist. It's made up.'

Dallas wants a deal.

Garrett may be against it but Garrett is probably against a lot of deals that get done.

JErry will sign Hardy for cheap if he can and tell Garrett to deal with it.

I think the rumors about Hardy have taken on a life of their own.

Two confirmed missed / late for meetings has suddenly become a bunch of meetings, and the. All sorts of unsubstantiated rumors starting popping up too.

And then "the coaches don't want him" became fact, even though their direct quotes said otherwise.

He may be back or he may not, but there's been a lot of misinformation reported as facts too.

Doesnt' change the fact that in the beginning, the Cowboys were quick to defend him. Then the missed meetings happen and nary a peep from the Cowboys. Actually I believe the Cowboys said that they don't take about personnel issues like that............ forgetting the fact they did earlier in the season when it pertained to Hardy.

Just my guess but early on, when they still believed Hardy would fall in place, they were quick to try to set the narrative and defend their decision to take him. But after a few sideline blow ups, then some missed meetings, some got tired of defending him like they did earlier.

While I concede that there's a chance he could be back, I think people are underestimating the chance that the Cowboys are just tired of him and have little interest in him.

Looks to me like Dallas has multiple targets at running back and rotational defensive end, possibly third corner, to fill those roles. The team likely ends up with whoever comes cheapest at those positions.

Don't mind it if the idea of signing Long is depth/starter for a week here and there.
Especially with Gregory gone for at least 4 games.

I doubt the Cowboys want Hardy back.

Beggars can't be choosers. And I think that given their situation, the Cowboys are beggars.

They obviously have a big need, and what they do have come with question marks.

They can't compete with the big money being thrown around for other proven pass rushers.

So they're either back to dealing with Hardy for a much lower cost, or they're scrambling around in the draft and hoping another rookie can buck the trend that defensive ends don't get sacks right away.

Probably like we felt when we signed Mincey, Terrell McClain, Brandon Weeden, C.J. Spillman, Dekoda Watson, James Anderson and Jack Crawford in 2014.

Or Darren McFadden, Jed Collins, Jasper Brinkley, Corey White, Andrew Gachkar and Keith Rivers last year.

I purposely left out Greg Hardy on that second list, but it's always possible Dallas will make that kind of splash signing if it feels it can get more bang for its buck (i.e. a young, dynamic player who is likely to remain dynamic for the length of the contract).

If they offer Hardy, they should offer the bonus money at the end of the year based on attendance and behavior. No point in beating around the bush this time, make him earn his check on their terms.

No problem with that.

There is a theory out there that he isn't a RKG but I think it's just a bunch of BS.

Dallas knows he won't have a lot of teams asking for his services and when no team offers him a contract then Dallas will come in with a 2 or 3 year deal worth about 4 or 5 mill a year.

It's no theory it's know a well known fact. He's done in Dallas and good riddance. Team chemistry killer.

I don't care who they sign as long as they (the free agents) remove Hayden, Wilber, Wilcox, and other non-producing starters off the roster.
