Eagles were combating read-option by having LB take RB regardless and then S comes down for QB. When DAL pulled TE to block, game over.

That was Elliott's final run of the first quarter. The Cowboys gave him the ball twice in the second quarter....twice!
I have no idea why Dak threw this ball.

Beasley is wide open, Dez is in one-on-one. The MOF has four on two. Pass was never there.
Where did this come from? Hasn't been there all year.

Perfect pocket again. Crazy footwork releasing the ball again. Misses Dez open for a TD.

Terrance Williams suplexing the DB to save the interception

Terrance Williams had two of the biggest plays of the game, which is weird to say when it's a positive statement.

This wasn't a finger tips catch either. McKelvin SHOULD have caught this. He didn't just have an outside chance at it.

This is the kind of thing that would turn you to religion. A literal football miracle.

You know what Dak doesn't get enough credit for though? Getting the offense in the right play. Audibled a lot again on Sunday.

You get a whole lot of angry responses when you talk about interceptable passes and things that should have happened.

I remember thinking when this happened, "WOW! Williams caught a ball with not only his hands, but his fingers and over his head!"

I have always been hard on him for being a body catcher, but I will say that two of the best catches I have seen from the Cowboys in the past couple of years have been made by Williams and in both he used his hands stretched away from his body. The other one was his sideline tip-toe catch in Seattle.

He had a bad game like all qbs have. And he still pulled it together to get the W. Thats what you're looking for in a qb no? Overcome mistakes to get the win? Am i missing something?

Lots of could-have-beens in this game. He made some plays to win the game, but he made some too that could have lost the game. I don't think either aspect should be overlooked.

We escaped with the overtime victory, which covers a lot of the warts and earned Dak some leeway, along with the fact that he's had more good games than subpar ones.

Dak has work to do on his footwork but that's an easy fix. Considering he didn't take snaps under center and got that down pat, I think the footwork will give him something to really work on this off season and will get it straight

On broadcast you could see Prescott's first throw was poorly placed, A22 reveals it was also a bad decision. Should have worked wide side.

On the short-hopped third down throw to Cole Beasley, the Eagles went all out. Left the back end in one-on-one across the board.

Beasley was the right decision, he just missed the throw. Though I'm inclined to think QB should just throw this up for Dez to go and win.
Whatever about the QBs, the Cowboys don't win this game if Alfred Morris is the starting RB.

Even if McKelvin had caught the interception, it wouldn't have ended the game. There was still 3:11 remaining, and we had all three timeouts. The Eagles very likely would have gone three-and-out -- just like they did on their final two possessions after that.

I've said in other threads that some of those passes that Dak missed, Romo would hit, no doubt.

BUT... on a few plays (the TD, the 1st down run & the 1yd 1st down) Dak's mobility/movement was the difference and something that I don't know if Romo could have pulled off.

There was one play, an INC, where Dak rolled out to his right a long ways and was knocked down but got rid of the ball just in time (safely). I think Romo gets sacked on that play.

SO it's what it comes down to: you take a Dak that's developing. Some of his mistakes you can fix/coach up. or you take a Romo who's mobility is maybe limited (who knows)

Hard to take serious Considering his comments on Williams. Williams is better than every wr on the eagles and is a very productive player who plays every week.

FOOTWORK is not an easy fix. Espacially when it''s been a issue since college It will only get worse with a good pass rush It's a mental thing. Tough to overcome when the heat is on.. Dak is very football smart......hopefully he'll overcome that.

BTW - some passes can be made without great footwork. Ask John Elway......
