On the TD on the reception in the end-zone, the Rams got by with a pick play on Scandrick. It was actually Scandrick's man that caught the TD, but it appeared that Scandrick was covering the receiver that intentionally bumped him out of coverage. The Rams ran several similar plays trying to pick the coverage guy. They got called for it once and they did it legally another time or two, but the one that resulted in a TD was definitely not a legal pick.
Wow this was unexpected, I was expecting to hear he was as bad as he looked but I guess not. Claiborne was very close on a play last week too against Tennessee... I wonder what the thoughts would be about him if he's able to come up with the near pick last week, the one he barely missed this week and the one that sealed the game?
You really wonder what people would think if he was getting interceptions instead of giving up big plays?
It was an illegal pick play on that TD reception in the end-zone. The receiver that caught it was being covered by Scandrick until the receiver being covered by Claiborne intentionally bumped Scandrick bringing him to a dead stop.I thought I saw him complaining to his teammates after that last TD where he was standing around like statue of David not covering anyone.
I might be alone here, but I'd take Jaques Reeves over Claiborne at this point.
Raise your hand if you realized that Scandrick started over Claiborne.
In the 1st half, Claiborne was primarily just in when they played Nickel with 3 CBs. Later in the game he did play some snaps in the base defense.
I've seen several post sayings that Claiborne shouldn't be starting, but in reality he really wasn't starting.
I re-watched the game on the ALL-22 and Claiborne was not as bad as it seemed watching it in real-time.
The long TD pass was a push-off by the WR. It would be good to see Claiborne be able to recover from it, but technically it should have been a penalty.
On the long pass completion on the sideline, he pulled up and tried to go for the INT but he had miss-judged the ball.

He did have a good blitz and got a good hit on the QB. He was a split second from a sack, but that young QB has a quick release.
Claiborne does do some things that are irritating, like complaining about getting called for holding when he clearly did it; however, overall he was not as bad as people are saying. Somebody posted that he was pointing fingers at other players, but I didn't see that.
There were a lot of plays were he had good coverage and the ball went somewhere else.
With Scandrick having started the game, that makes Claiborne the 3rd CB. If people judged him as a 3rd CB, instead of judging him based on his draft status, I don't think there would be many complaints.
There were years where the Cowboys didn't have a starter that was as good as Claiborne, and definitely didn't have a 3rd CB as good as him. People forget the Dwayne Goodrich, Mario Edwards, Nate Jones , Pete Hunter, Jacques Reeves, etc.. years.

No, that would only be true if they had less than 2 CBs on the field. Scandrick and Carr were on the field. That means that Claiborne was the #3 CB.I read last night that the only reason he didn't start the Rams game was because of the formation the Rams started the game in. This weekend is the first game he's been told he's been replaced in the starting line up by Scan....this season.

What's odd is that he got one of the "atta boy" awards for the Rams game.Right now Garrett is not saying if he is even 3rd or situational. I think a lot will come down to how he responds after his little meltdown. Right now would not be shocked to see Mo and Moore splitting time as the 3rd CB
We don't know what kind of demotion he got this week. He already didn't start against the Rams. He's bad plain and simple. Team agrees and have demoted him. So sorry but ur wrong. Its not just about his coverage anymore. His lack of tackling. His inability to play the run. Missed assignments, Its everything. He's just bad

He received an "atta boy" award for the Rams game from the coaches.
