When was the last time a 4 week injury to a Cowboy was actually a 4 week injury?

One would think that you wait on Bass and perhaps cut Arkin, who will never see the field as a Cowboy.

Injuries work both ways. Some are better than thought and others worse. They all aren't on the negative side of the ledger though.

He is a backup, you want to hold his roster spot for 4 weeks? Especially if it is longer than 4 weeks?

If it really was only 4 weeks I would cut loose either Arkin or Weems. Weems is still practice squad eligible if he passed through waivers. There are 7 guys that are inactive on game day anyway.

Let's not overrate the guy.

He wasn't thought of highly enough to be drafted in 2012. And has now been placed on IR both seasons the guy has tried to play professional football.

Someone else claiming him? Unlikely.

Being afraid to lose the guy would be like being afraid of losing Tanney.

Guys need to develop, he's 23 years old, Bass looks like he has a pretty high ceiling and could be a serviceable starter possibly next year or the year after, I wouldn't want to just give up on him because he got hurt

Is this a case of us liking one of our guys more than other teams would like him? yes, he is young...but, had the team been healthy (including him), he likely would have been in the rotation but 4th or 5th on the roster minimally...his snaps would have been limited regardless...

I advocated bringing him back after 6 weeks....but everyone assumes that he'll be picked up if given an injury settlement.

Same things they were saying about Tanney.

I hear you, but I wouldn't even want to risk it because he's more ready to play than Tanney. Tanney is more of a project, it would take a team 3 years or so to get him ready while Bass on the other hand is a nice rotational player now with the up-side of a starting DT in the next year or 2 so it would be more likely he gets picked up than Tanney.... But that's just my opinion, I'm not saying your wrong

Broaddus said he would have come in on pass rushing situations in place of Hayden.
